Top work from Ngaio and Crofton Downs kickstarting a suburb wide household emissions reduction programme. This is a community driven programme that has the support and financial backing of Wellington City Council. Just goes to show what collaboration can achieve.

What this says to me is that we just don’t have enough bus lanes in our cities to have developed a culture of actively avoiding the bus lane when driving. There’s more to be done to develop this culture and enforcement is a part of that. So is installing more bus lanes. Let’s get on with it.

The Post printed an article today asserting that Wellington’s car parking is “overstretched”. I asked what their basis was for asserting this, given that WCC parking occupancy at peak times is only 52% and there are around 30,000 car parks overall in the central city. They removed the assertion.
