Landlord is shopping estimated for a new AC and possibly furnace. Can’t COMPLETELY blame him, since the price tag’s close to $10k. But it means my AC isn’t coming back soon. Time to buy a portable unit, then.

Power went out over 4 hours ago. No ETA on having it restored. Could probably go sleep at the house, their lights are on and I was over most of the night. But THIS is my home now. Broken and battered as we both are. Better breeze in the living room. I’ll try to sleep on the couch.

The air conditioner at my new place is dead. It's a nearly 30 year old compressor, and apparently the refrigerant's leaked out. We're looking at a head wave next week that'll have temps in the 90s F (32+ C) and humidity to match. Alright, new landlord, let's get this fixed fast.

Moved in. Friends came into town to help, and it went a long way. Went back to the house to get Goomba; nearly broke down crying when I saw the kids. I think exhaustion is gonna be the only thing saving me from a long night. I’ll count my blessings for it.

Been up way too late testing. Looks like 2 bad DIMMs. Checked against an old kit using MemTest86+ and I think it’s the DIMMs, but can’t rule out the processor until new memory gets in tomorrow. That’s a later problem. For now: sleep.

Solid and mostly chill day at the new place today. Internet's back online, got some dishes washed, and had Goomba over for the first time. She's still a little antsy, but I think she's gonna be okay. She really likes being able to watch out the front door from the couch. 💙

Made more good progress today. Couch is assembled (and pretty comfy), dining table is done, and I got 1 of 4 chairs. Need to head out now to start on dinner. It’s good to have things in the space. I can start seeing how it can be a home. I’m excited for that.

Aaaaaaaand it's gone. 😩 Got to the new place this morning, and it looks like the ONT has died somehow. Thing won't even go through its power-on cycle. Tech is apparently gonna come to take a look at it Wednesday, but for now we're back to the hotspot.
