Well… today I have my first DOGE subcommittee hearing along with a Judiciary hearing, all while DC is snowed in! If I had normal coworkers & the country wasn’t going to hell lead by DOGE Douchebags, I’d say, “nothing to see here,” but something tells me, today is going to be pure insanity…

How much Elon Musk makes from the government a day: $8 million. How much a senior on Social Security gets a day: $65 Guess which budget Musk and Trump want to cut?

not a new observation but Elon Musk genuinely isn't very bright, genuinely has no idea how most things work, and his entire supergenius engineer persona is a tech press-enabled mythology (they've never been held accountable for)

Just got a tip from a guy at the FAA. You'll never believe who is still getting new government contracts while all the contracts at the Department of Education and USAID and other agencies are being nuked from orbit.

And now is the time when we see what companies REALLY gots women’s backs,,, the world is watching 👀

These are research grants awarded through evaluation of their merits by scientific peers, in which the investigators are carrying out important, ground-breaking work. They're being targeted because, as required by NSF guidelines, they include some investment in benefits for the broader community.

Bernie Sanders: "They will use the enormous media operations they own to deflect attention away from the impact of their policies while they entertain us to death."

@aoc.bsky.social We’d like your help organizing a March on Washington to ensure protester safety and secure permits. We’re aiming for a Saturday at least two weeks out to allow for travel planning.

A coalition of news organizations said in a court filing that video exhibits from a Jan. 6 riot case had "disappeared" from a government platform that provided access to evidence used in court.

The move puts the security and integrity of elections in the U.S. — especially at the state level, where local election officials rely on CISA resources to securely run elections — at risk. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

Imagine if @aoc @sanders.senate.gov , every dem, SIMULTANEOUSLY held Town Halls where they allowed grant and contract recipients to explain to the country what it is they do and why it's important Invite all media. Including RW podcasters. @spaces Flood the zone Call it a Day Of Transparency

An American flag built on the backs of Black people... Black music protesting white political terror in registers they never hear; reminiscent of ancestral spirituals embedded with instructions for runaways All this in New Orleans... What a moment

Washington, D.C. yesterday. "Shut down the Senate, Shut down the Senate." Chanted for hours. More massive #USprotests, ongoing. Sources here report, "Millions of people are getting ready as we speak to take this country back and save the USA. Their days are numbered. Stay tuned." #3E

You are not powerless, and he is not unstoppable. Look at, and learn from, the funding freeze and how quickly he was forced to surrender.

More of this, America.

This is the most relevant article to NIH and research cuts I’ve seen. Imagine if this was today , how many people would be saying “Why are we studying Gila Monsters and their impact on diabetes ? That’s wasted money !” globalnews.ca/news/9793403...

Operation ICE Ride-Along isn’t going as planned. 🔥 Fox News tagged along with ICE, hoping for an exclusive look at “dangerous criminals.” Instead, they got a whole lot of nothing. No threats, no big arrests—just a community that wasn’t having it. The narrative is falling apart.

A good reminder

a nice reminder to the press that there is nothing you can do to pacify these people or buy yourself leniency

New — The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) was told this week by DOJ that they'd lose their funding if the org didn't remove any mentions of LGBTQIA+ issues from their public materials, I've learned. Staff were told they need to deadname trans kids in their reports to comply.

Well, Google just dropped any mention of LGBT from about.google/belonging/ I'm fucking furious. Fucking cowards.

Now the whole country gets the experience of what it's like when private equity buys the place you work

Murphy: "We need to act like a real opposition party in the middle of a constitutional and democracy crisis. That means we should not be moving forward nominees or legislation in the Senate. Ds should not be giving votes to nominee or legislation in the Senate until Rs get serious about this crisis"

His administration is literally composed of men who beat and batter women.

Crockett: "If feels as if y'all have just decided that y'all are gonna castrate your constitutional duty & hand it over to someone who was unelected. It doesn't matter how many cheerleaders he had on the field campaigning for him. That doesn't mean he gets to go in and sit atop any of our agencies"

Spot on from @chrismurphyct.bsky.social

Elon Musk is a terrible president.

"Don’t Believe Him" — This is good advice. Gift link:

Don't Believe Him #ABlueView🧵1/3 Ezra Klein brilliance: "Trump has never wanted to be president... He has always wanted to be king. His plan this time is to 1st play king on TV. If we believe he's already king, we will be likelier to let him govern as a king. Don’t believe him"

This is very good. Clear and succinct.

Approximately 20 members of Elon Musk’s staff have begun working within the Education Department. They have gained access to multiple sensitive internal systems, including a financial aid dataset containing the personal information of millions of students enrolled in the federal student aid program.

NEW: A 25-year-old who's worked for Elon Musk companies now has direct control over a Treasury system disbursements from which amount to a fifth of the US economy. He does not, our sources say, have "read only" access, but high-level admin privileges on a mainframe housing all the code.

if I understand American politics correctly, progressivism is something that requires 60 senate votes to work, while national conservatism doesn’t require any votes at all

Our experts are here to answer your questions and discuss our game plan moving forward. Join our Town Hall to discuss President Trump's first attacks and how we're fighting back tomorrow at 4:30pm ET. RSVP at action.aclu.org/webform/trum...

It’s the job of every congressional democrat to grind the gears of government to a stop. Right now. Block everything. Slow walk every committee. Call every vote. Filibuster every post office name change. State Dems need to build parallel institutions to protect the people at home. GET TO WORK.
