Player-Character Base (or in other words, the naked body without the clothing/customization) is pretty much done. Went ahead and textured the damage states as well, with the idea that they'd be visible under torn clothing. All textures here are handpainted #gamedev #indiedev #crimsoncounty

One thing I relatively recently learned is the magic of hand-painted textures. It of course helps with the retro-aesthetic, but nobody told me how therapeutic the whole process would be either. Even if I'm often texturing scary monsters (naked men included) #Gamedev #Indiedev #CrimsonCounty

Today I learned that Monolith Productions was just shut down. What's there to even say? Many of their games are long-time favourites of mine and its a goddamn shame to see a Studio that pushed innovation like that go the way of the Dodo RIP Monolith

One of the few good things about rigging and weightpainting is that at least I can occasionally decompress by putting him in goofy poses. Or laughing at the fact that a casual "hands down" pose makes him look hilariously uncomfortable #3dModelling #GameDev #CrimsonCounty

TOPOLOGY Then vs Now Yeah, it was quite something having to re-topo my first character a few months ago. I'd argue the current version is still far from perfect (there are a few clusters around the legs as you can see) but the difference is still night and day #gamedev #3dmodelling #autodeskmaya

These little guys from my #NovisNatura project were pretty heavily influenced by the Scanners from HL2, with a similar idea of floating about, spotting the player and then alerting nearby enemies. In a few tests we even managed to give it a cool looking spotlight coming from its eye #gamedev

A while ago, while out on one of my walks, a cat came up to me, rubbed against my leg and then plopped down to demand pets I think we both sat there for probably ten minutes or so. No clue who this cat belongs to, but it looked healthy and pretty relaxed #cat #neightbourscat #idontknowthiscat

I'm currently going through some of my older sketches, partly to reflect on them, but also to help develop the courage to regularly share things I make lol This one's from quite a while ago, back in 2021, for a project I sadly cancelled since then. But the design always stuck with me

I have a friend who's a HUGE fan of Johnny Silverhand from #Cyberpunk2077 , so I've been taking screenshots of him during my own playthrough to share with her I'm calling it "Collecting Johnnies" (These are just a few of them, since I don't want to flood my whole page lol)

In terms of characters, I usually go for someone in a suit or someone that's otherwise masked, since I'm not really good with faces (of course, I'm aware that one has to try to get better lol) Fun thing about this one were undoubtedly all the folds #3DModelling #3DCharacter #GameDev

Though I've been getting better at making characters, my main skill still lies in Props and Hardsurface Modelling. Add a tinge of Sci-Fi and some cables and I'm a pretty happy camper #3DModelling
