A "thayeri" type argentatus Northern Herring Gull on Hartlepool Fish Quay roof recently. Note long grey tongues on P7 & 8 with the grey tongue reaching the mirror on P9. Overall effect is much reduced black on the primaries giving a similar pattern to a Thayers Gull. #NEBirding
