This is, in large part, pandemic revenge. As far as these oligarchs are concerned, all science does is tell them stuff they cannot do. They can't keep spewing carbon. They can't keep businesses open as usual when millions are dying. They have concluded that research is the enemy of profit.

When you make a new friend and a few weeks later scroll your TBR list and find your friend's name as an award-winning journalist who wrote a whole ass book. WHAT. I love people. People are so cool.

Trying to awkwardly model for my own paintings.

Being an adult means coffee doesn't really energize you in the morning, but if you drink it after 4pm, you're awake for the entire night.

Everything feels unpredictable. My emotions. The world/politics. What I'm doing next year. I am stressed.

I can no longer find the simple information about how long you should use a stainless steel water bottle in order to offset the high energy/water output to make it... (This used to be relatively available). Instead, I found LOTS of articles about how we are using our water bottles for *too long*.

If you have a smidge of power and you catch yourself thinking: Maybe we'll be safe if we: - tone this justice program a bit - take that 'decolonization' reference off the website - nix that grant for decarbonization... know that you are playing your part in Trump's game perfectly. 1/2

I've been taping some paper to the wall and using leftover paint on it to doodle. I think I'm going to make a weird little book when I get a bundle of them.

Made progress on this giant yesterday

Ares loves little caves, so Grant always rolls his chair back to let Ares curl up under it

Reminding myself to not engage with an account that doesn't have a profile picture and isn't representating a real person 🫠

Currently reading Rooted by Brea Baker and it's captivating. Highly recommend.

it's a minor distinction, but one that bears mentioning: every org canceling their DEI programs on threat of losing federal funding is *complying in advance*, without making the government go through the labor and cost to actually cut that funding. Dismantling dignity and all it cost was an email.

Getting this blade out of my scraper made me feel v empowered (esp after I was worried it was going to snap. Hence the safety glasses)

i’m just photoshopping muppets onto the cover of harper’s bazaar: thread

In the new Trump presidency, we have got to remain focused. We can’t panic. No matter how many executive orders he signs or statements he issues, our goal is the same: We must fight to create an America based on economic, social & environmental justice. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Not the prettiest lunch but it's my favorite snack that I have made for years. Yogurt and peanut butter mixed- chopped apples and spontaneous addition pomegranates! (But you can also add cinnamon).

as an urbanist, of course I'm against filling the roads with private taxis for your burritos we should be transporting burritos via light rail!

I was in the studio sweeping the other day and my broom attacked me. It was 7pm, no one was around and I thought I lost my eye. (I'm not dramatic ✨at all✨)

Right before the TikTok ban I found so many knitters and seeing all the sweaters that were made made me realize I have been arbitrarily confining myself to hats. Who are your favorite pattern makers?

As we're phasing out old social media and opting for others, it made me wonder... What *did* happen to Myspace? Did we all just collectively ditch it?
