A #measles outbreak has infected 24 ppl in TX, most <18yo, all unvax’d & NINE are hosp’d. Measles is very contagious—we will see more cases. RFK Jr. is thinking about disbanding vaccine advisory groups like NVAC and ACIP altogether. This dovetails with Trump’s cancellation of February’s National Vaccine Advisory Council meeting. These groups constantly monitor and evaluate the safety and efficacy of established and new vaccines.

W/ #brexafemme recall spent last few days trying to get compounded topical antifungal for patient w/resistant genital #Glabrata (failed boric). Futile waste of time. anyone used #Nystatin oint (no vaginal suppositories in 🇺🇸?) vaginally? I’m close to using much more costly micafungin infusion.

PSA: turns out for a #dog eating even 1 #grape (even at #midnight) can cause irreversible anuria so we spent last night at doggie ER to barf a large grape (apomorphine) then get zofran for barfing 🤢 Doggie ERs: nice, efficient. Zofran: works. Dog goes to 🛏️ at 2AM & still wakes up early to eat. 🥱😇

Very thoughtful thread by ‪@angierasmussen.bsky.social on the rarity of severe disease to date. I tend to think the route of infection and quantity of exposure hypothesis makes sense, but it is hard to ignore that the 2 severe cases to day of #H5N1 2.3.4.4b were the same less common genotype
