I had a magical moment today where I needed to take a breather and I looked over and got this amazing surprise. Rainbows are a promise. A touch of beauty. A reminder to take a look around and observe. And connection. There was a group of us that shared the unabashed glee together.

It's a lot. Every day, new onslaughts in so many different spheres. It's hard to keep up, let alone act. Simply being a patriotic American today feels like being an epidemiologist in the early days of the pandemic. Do what you can—then be gentle with yourself. Take time. You need your strength.

The gift that keeps on giving. Have had influenza b, then strep, now influenza a. Having strong words with Brian about strategies we can take because influenza a is pretty terrible. B was miserable. Strep was miserable. A has been a kick and I've had to spend a lot of time laying down.

Made chillequeno at work and tried making my own roasted tomatillo salsa Verde at home but mine had too much spinach I think and ended up being super green. Also used plant egg at home and didn't make the pickled red onion. Brian gave it his seal of approval which feels like winning.

Also whether your energy investment even in the case of losing is valuable to you. Total resource calculation (because your energy and time is limited). And sometimes the battle is so crucial that not trying is going to leave you feeling all the regrets.
