I think I'm going to donate and send a screenshot of the receipt to my congressfolk (especially Mark Kelly and Reuben Gallego, who feel very centrist-adjacent right now). Maybe remind them more than once that I will donate and vote for anyone who primaries a centrist Democrat in my district.

One of the many, many things I wish Democrats would do is to launch a massive campaign explaining to the general public what government actually is, and where the money actually goes, including investments in science. Watching this unfold at NASA (etc.) has been like watching a slow murder.

So disappointed in Mark Kelly, our Democratic senator from Arizona. Senator Kelly, we need you to do better than this.

BlueSky is trying to monetize so let's show them some numbers: Reskeet this if you refuse to pay for BlueSky+ until trust & safety decides to prioritize marginalized users. That's $96 / year of lost revenue for each reskeet...

In the last 30 years, I made wooden Christmas ornaments, drew lots of robots, wizards and monsters for board games, designed sippy cups, and taught doctors about design thinking. Now I'm figuring out final grades, writing research questions and editing grant proposals. Creative careers are weird.

I have a new illustration project! "Unhappy Birthday at Castle Slogar" is a puzzle book, written by Mark Larsen and illustrated by me. It's based on the card game "Gloom", which I also illustrated, back in 2004. I mostly a design professor now, but working on these projects is still a lot of fun.
