Sitting quietly, observing and thinking deeply about everything. The two goals that guide me are: 1. Create the kind of world you want to live in by sending positive messages into the world. 2. Live life now as the future is unknown. Sorry, no dms.

Interesting article. I think Klein is right that effective government is an essential goal. However, effective government is not an end state. It is a tool to deliver the real goal of economic fairness, part of which is getting rid of oligopoly. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/08/o...

China's government disappears people who publically disagree with it. I hope that rule still applies when Trump visits.

The essence of democracy is listening to opposition views, even when you have strong opinions. But this is a skill that needs to be taught. Until we can go back to being able to discuss everything, democracy will be in danger. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

The only way Putin will ever agree to peace is if he feels threatened. This strike might actually make a difference. It show what Ukraine might have done without all the restrictions on the use of weapons from allies.

They say older men compensate for a loss of virility by buying a sports car. What are you compensating for if you want to buy a dome?

We should take care of Trump, as he is suffering mental anguish from having to deal with people who don't agree with him. I think a nice long holiday on Heard Island (with no internet access) might be just what he needs.

Only rarely do you get insights like this from someone so knowledgeable. Europe needs to act against Putin because Trump is too scared to do anything.

Trump’s US is “just like Yeltsin in Russia in the 1990s – promising a new kind of democracy, but in reality allowing the oligarchs to loot and distort the society".

The most depressing article I've read in a long time. Gullible fools are going to continue to vote for autocrats because it's in our biology.

Lol, that's so true. Even his own social media company sees it now.

Geniuses don't sell out the future for a short term gain.

Republican: tariffs are a short term negotiating tactic that will go away AND tariffs will bring back manufacturing and reduce imports AND import tariffs are a long term source of revenue to pay for taxes. Democrats: <crickets> Independents: Facts: Selective tariffs work. Everything tariffs do not.

Simple solutions are easy to explain to voters but they don't work in reality.

He forgot to say "pretty please?"

Manufacturing would have increase 50% to make up for international tourism going to zero. But it will take at least 5 years to build any meaningful number of new manufacturing facilities and tourism could be zero in a few months.

Was Make America Great Again always sarcasm, or is it just ironic that tariffs are having the opposite effect?
