I have been talking to a LOT of people trying to break into indie comics that do not understand how our market works. To make a living on the normal royalties of 10% of cover on a 20 dollar book you need to sell 20k copies a year to make 40k. If you sell 2k copies you did a good job.

Can someone tell me why all the leasing agents that have come through my house have been SO disrespectful??? One let himself in over an hour before the scheduled viewing One entered without knocking when I was very clearly home Last one just left the door wide open, we HAVE PETS YOU DINGUS

This month has been so horrible and passed so quick that I almost forgot my birthday is tomorrow already 29 had better be a DAMN good year

I want to redesign my table set up before TCAF, but I can’t decide between Silly Art Mart and Silly Art Gallery

I want to make some quick comics about her for TCAF, but I don’t have the time to sit down and have ideas

I need to get up and do stuff but my body says no

SEE YALL AT TCAFFFFF!!!!!!

I bought something for my bday, and its either going to end up being a waste of money, or I’m about to become insanely annoying about the cute things I’m gonna make

I wanna do something positive today: show me an art piece you've done recently (or semi-recently) that you're proud of ✨ be sure to include alt text 💙

Holy shit this is an incredible deal. GET ON THIS, folks.

THIS. I suffer from CHRONIC migraines . And I rely on my COMMUNITY & PATRONS on those times. I don't fucking steal . I rest and WORK MY ASS OFF. You think the folks who are ill or disabled are lazy? They work 3x as hard!

Monet's Waterlillies as his eyesight failed him. In 1923, he had surgery that caused his perception of color and light to change. He continued to paint despite this. We were gifted with his perspective that we'd otherwise be unable to see. AI art cannot replace a real artist. #NoAI

This idea that AI makes art more “accessible” obfuscates and ignores the fact that art has long been a tool of expression for disabled and marginalized persons for which community, connection, and income have otherwise been inaccessible. Art has never been inaccessible. Art creates accessibility.

I didn't have much natural artistic talent. It would take years of dedication for my art to get to an acceptable quality - years of work I have no desire to put in. That's why I made art accessible by paying human artists to do it for me.

Sarah Biffin was born in the late 1700s without arms or legs but she painted with a brush pinned to her shoulder. She was successful, celebrated, and even became a teacher.

One argument I've heard is that like "a human is still coming up with ideas, and AI brings your ideas to life!" the "Ideas" phase is only ONE phase of the artistic process. All of the choices you make when creating are meaningful! an idea isn't what makes it art, your choices make it art.

I just thought of a good panel idea for TCAF….. dang it…. Applications closed so long ago…

I got a sneak peek at this and it’s SO GOOD! Preorder ASAP!!! I will be ordering a copy for my little sisters eventually!!
