Still thinking about how good Sinners is. The set-up before the horror arrives is so strong that even if Coogler removed the horror he could’ve told a half dozen equally interesting stories about those characters and that night at Club Juke. That’s a really interesting way to pace a horror film too

Watching The Lodger and there have already been 3 or 4 shots I've never seen in anything else, like this double exposure shot showing the pacing footsteps characters hear as they look up at their celling. I love seeing silent filmmakers figure out different ways to communicate things

Finished the last 4 episodes of The Pitt yesterday and it's a beautiful example of how to write falling action. New problems are spinning up as the climactic problems spin down, and the characters all have to decide for themselves when they step off the merry-go-round
