“Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!”

Pretty disturbed by some of the Kremlin framing on the Trump talks being bought by parts of the media worldwide. It’s as if the genesis of the war is entirely forgotten. This isn’t a conflict which needs mediation. It was an unprovoked act of aggression. It could end tomorrow if Putin just withdrew.

Essential reading from @davidallengreen.bsky.social on the daft legal interlude that is Liz Truss’s supposed libel threat.

At a time when so many powerful people are bending the knee to Donald Trump, it’s incredibly important that we lift up acts of resistance. Yesterday, the celebrated editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes quit the Washington Post when they killed the cartoon below. This is what courage looks like.

“As an editorial cartoonist, my job is to hold powerful people and institutions accountable. For the first time, my editor prevented me from doing that job. So I have decided to leave the Washington Post” — Ann Telnaes, after drawing this cartoon, which included the image of a supplicant Jeff Bezos

With Farage back on Question Time last night... ...here is your reminder that Farage was on BBCQT a record-breaking 35 times before he became an MP. And, further, that the panellist selection on BBCQT has been heavily slanted to right-wing think tanks and commentators over the years.

December 1 means that once again it's time for the promotions department of a million companies and venues to launch campaigns showing that they don't know that the 12 Days of Christmas come after Christmas itself, not at the start of Advent.

Rock music is one of my passions. I always enjoy Spotify Wrapped, but this year I have outdone myself with my listening. If you want a blast of awesome #classicrock with deep cuts from Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Whitesnake + Rainbow check it out. It has me grinning from bleeding ear to ear.

How cool would it be to see MR. BLUE SKY as this year's Christmas No.1? It's already receiving odds from credible bookmakers to go to the top, but we need YOUR help! Are you in? If so please RESKEET and like this post so we can get an idea of numbers! #MrBlueSky #MrBlueSkyXmas #XmasNo1

Bluesky has grown massively in recent weeks and has a feel-good vibe like X-Twitter did way back when. But be aware fake accounts are also popping up here. A now-deleted fake Jamie Lee Curtis account asked people to DM her their scariest fiction ideas. This Tamsyn Muir account also appears fake. 1/2

I feel like videogames actually do provide a pretty accurate representation of real life right now because a lot of videogames are like “THE WORLD IS ENDING” and then you just collect herbs and pretend nothing is wrong
