Is Orbit the episode which the entire existence of Blake’s 7 was working its way towards all along? Well, yes, of course it was. Hear why, below!

In a feature length (yes, really) edition of In Conversation this week, I had a long and in-depth discussion with Tony nominee Eddie Perfect, one of this country’s most eclectic, respected and prolific artists. If you have any interest in how musicals are created, listen to this! 🎧 bit.ly/InCon179s

In which we discuss an episode where the sum is less than its fabulous parts. Sand. And a romantic dinner for two.

UK broadcaster, writer and composer Stephen Johnson is exactly the kind of presenter I idolised as a child (and still do). Some might call it “old school" presenting but I would call it "actual" presenting. Stephen talks candidly about mental health, music’s healing power, and more bit.ly/InCon177s

Lovely to catch up with Amy Manford for this week’s In Conversation. A successful soprano, actress AND producer (and ex-gymnast and pole vaulter! 😱), she has loads of talent plus ‘get up and go’ - and the drive to make sure the fireworks happen no matter what! 🎧 bit.ly/InCon175s

🧵 1. Watched the 90min colorised War Games. Was interesting to see a condensed edit even if I don’t think a lot of it worked. It’s edited like a long trailer rather than a tv movie. The ubiquitous presence of loud music is overwhelming and detracts…

Daniel Smith was the perfect guest to kick off In Conversation for 2025. His career path to conducting is the definition of tenacity and persistence - and a lot of talent! What’s more, he grew up only a few streets (and a few years!) from me - in Carlingford! 🎧 bit.ly/InCon173a

New year, new me. Lots to do in 2025 in all the myriad parts to my life. This upgrade is overdue!

A discussion about the underrated episode Traitor where I think we all sort of agree it’s underrated. There are some wonderful moment, not to mention large shoulder epaulettes and plenty of black feathers.

Such a pleasure and honour to be part of this team. Here are our thoughts on the Moffat and Capaldi eras. To paraphrase the ABC continuity announcers of yore: ‘that’s the final episode of FTE for the time being… but they’ll be back!’

Welcome to the second quarter of the 21st Century (ie, the distant future). It won’t be long now before I’ve lived longer in the 21st than the 20th. Yikes.

My lukewarm reaction to a less than lukewarm episode, this year’s Christmas special - some great ideas and good moments but overall for me it just doesn’t come together. My full diatribe on the subject is below…

The flight through entirety is about to go into a temporary stasis, but before it does here’s our take on Twice Upon a Time… which was much better than I recalled it being!

We’re back for the final series of Blake’s 7. Rescue is a great episode, and Geoffrey Burridge gives a stellar performance as Dorian. Listen to our musings below!

After not using @bsky.app for a bit I forgot my p/word. No amount of ‘forgot password’ clicks sent me a reset (and yes I checked my junk) & emails to support went unanswered. I’ve now found the password, no thanks to BlueSky. Something for them to consider improving if they want to take over from X?

Thrilled to be part of this new podcast revisiting old favourites. I love this story, and it pains me more than any other that it’s missing, but despite that status there is so much we can enjoy and close our eyes to imagine more.

In this week’s @maximumpowerpod.bsky.social we discuss this most Blake’s 7 of Blake’s 7 episodes, perhaps the best of the entire series.

One of my favourite interviews from the year is with the phenomenal Ray Chen, which we revisit in today’s In Conversation Summer Series. We cover a lot of ground incl #playwithray and his new #tonicmusicapp 🎧Listen in at 1pm on 2MBS or anytime at bit.ly/InConRC

It’s around about now on Xmas Day that I should be explaining the rules to a board game to a family incapable of taking on simple instructions, or assembling a new Lego police station or perhaps diving into a freshly acquired novelization of The Web of Fear. #ChristmasMemories

Catch our @ftepodcast.bsky.social hot takes on #DoctorWho The Giggle below. I might gush about Neil Patrick Harris. Ncuti’s thighs may also get a mention.

Our latest Maximum Power, in which I take the host’s chair so that I may have my fingers poised on kill switches for each of our panel. podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/m...

How great is Neil Patrick Harris in #DoctorWho #TheGiggle. Such a superb actor, he’s obviously having a great time and there are so many little touches he gives it which are so well placed in a performance so perfectly judged. I just want to be him.

After a somewhat silly (but I suspect highly relevant for next week) start, I thoroughly enjoyed this week’s episode and it demonstrates how interesting the series is capable of being. I hope we get more like this from RTD2. Hear the @ftepodcast.bsky.social crew’s first takes on it below!

A great B7 episode, an even better Villa episode, and a spectacular Michael Keating episode. Listen to our take on it below! maximumpowerpodcast.com/37/

Gosh I love Day of the Daleks. I remember seeing it for the first time on its 1983 repeat after S20. It was my first Pertwee since seeing Planet of the Spiders as my first ever DW some years earlier. Such a shock when those red credits started. I was expecting a Jon Pertwee shaped time tunnel!

An amateur theatre troupe where a murder takes place, but the show must go on, is the setting for a new comedy at The Ensemble Theatre starring and co-written by my guest for this week's In Conversation, Jamie Oxenbould. 🎧Apple: bit.ly/InConJOa 🎧Spotify: bit.ly/InConJOs

So much fun talking about my first ever Blakes 7 episode - how fabulous is Harvest of Kairos! Fabulous with a Capital F, that’s what!! The perfect episode to introduce me to this splendid series. Love it to bits. Listen to our blather below! podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/m...

Because being in one #DoctorWho podcast this weekend was woefully inadequate, here we are in a brand new one - The Second Great and Bountiful Human Empire - and like all good fans I obsess over things like credits and console rooms rather then, you know, the episode.

So does being hyper excited by the fact the Tardis console room is clean and white rather than dingy and grotty make me a bad person, or does it just make me right all along? #DoctorWho

On this week’s @ftepodcast.bsky.social we praise one of the best eps of #DoctorWho ever made, and I wonder why the modern show doesn’t produce more eps with this tone & maturity (yes I know I’m an outlier but proud of it). And lovely to (virtually) meet @mrrobvalentine.bsky.social for this one

So I was trying to post an audiogram preview of my fabulous interview with the ever gorgeous Katy Manning but it seems you can’t post videos yet to Bluesky so you’ll just have the listen to the whole episode. Links below! So proud of this one! 🎧Apple: bit.ly/InConKMa 🎧Spotify: bit.ly/InConKMs

On air for my usual Thursday Breakfast shift this 23 November. What to play next? How about the most iconic theme tune ever composed and realised? #DoctorWho

The adorable Katy Manning was my guest for this week's In Conversation to celebrate 60 years of #DoctorWho - thank you Katy for spending an hour with me, you are such a delightful soul & great story teller! 🎧Apple: bit.ly/InConKMa 🎧Spotify: bit.ly/InConKMs

An episode full of great ideas but which doesn’t quite land for me. Also there’s a word for the overlong sequence leading up to Clara’s ‘death’, which might be something like ‘tiresome’. Yes, thems fightin’ words! Hear more of my undoubtedly questionable views in the latest @ftepodcast.bsky.social
