End tax exemption for churches.

These executive orders are all illegal. Yet they are being treated by the federal government practically as a higher form of law than that which is passed by the legislature. And therein lies the fundamental problem of Trump 2. This, almost more than anything else, must be stopped.

Empty shelves are en route for summer.

The Supreme Court ruled that the Trump admin must facilitate the return of SMART Union Local 100 apprentice Kilmar Abrego Garcia. They need to quit wasting time and bring our union brother home NOW!

They quite literally believe that they can make reality into anything they choose it to be. This, among many other things, has to be seen as a red line.

"Criminal contempt". Now lets see some arrests. Pronto.

How many times do we have to re-learn that appeasement of fascists is *guaranteed* to fail?

Trump's brutal thugs.

As the Trump regime urges "drill baby drill" and romanticizes coal mining, emissions keep going up and carbon sinks are showing signs of severe stress. Remember ... just because you're not interested in the climate crisis does not mean the climate crisis isn't very much interested in you.

The Constitution is such an inconvenience for the MAGAs.

This is something we can all do.👇🏼 File a complaint with the FL and DC Bar to have Pam Bondi disbarred for not complying with the 9-0 Supreme Court ruling to return Mr. Garcia from El Salvador.

One of the keys to beating Trump is to make him look small. The universities are finally starting to do this.

"...his attempts to raise concerns internally within the NLRB preceded someone 'physically taping a threatening note' to his door that included sensitive personal information and overhead photos of him walking his dog that appeared to be taken with a drone..."

Here’s what I’d like to see: Harvard, Columbia, Yale etcetera rescind the degrees for any current administration official who works with the government to dictate what these institutions teach. Because you can’t collaborate with domestic terrorists.

We are on Russias side. The orange fatty is straight traitor

In defiance of the Supreme Court & without any evidence, the White House claims that Kilmar Abrego Garcia is a “terrorist,” who was “sent to the right place.” This is a blatant LIE. He is innocent. He cannot be allowed to rot in an El Salvadorian jail. He must be brought home.

Universities will win if they stick together and focus on what's actually important - non-profit teaching and research towards the public good - and ditch this neoliberal idea that the university is just a business like any other.

This is the way.

If Trump gets away with this crap in El Salvador then, yes, folks, we are a fascist country operating a network of concentration camps. This HAS to be reversed. Free #AbregoGarcia.

This, from the Holocaust Memorial Museum.

When authoritarianism comes knocking, be Harvard, not Columbia. “No govt — regardless of which party is in power — should dictate what private univs can teach, whom they can admit & hire, & which areas of study & inquiry they can pursue.” Alan Garber, Harvard’s pres www.nytimes.com/2025/04/14/u...

In case you're keeping score at home, we are *fully* in Constitutional Crisis mode now.

Hard no, Donald. Hard f-ing no.

Say No to Fascism

Say No to Fascism

Four R senators and four R House members could announce they're caucusing with the Dems for now, and will vote for Schumer for Majority Leader and Jeffries for Speaker, because the threat to the rule of law is dire. Meanwhile, they'll work with Democrats to construct guardrails against dictatorship.

There MUST be arrests over this. Without enforcement power we are dead in the water.

The Supreme Court has ruled <<9-0>> that #ÁbregoGarcía's deportation was a mistake and that the the US government needs to facilitate his return. The Trump regime and the El Salvadoran government are outright refusing to obey the Supreme Court at this point. There must be arrests over this.

AOC: We must acknowledge the terrifying moment we are in right now. What we are hearing and seeing with our own eyes is, in fact, happening. We are watching our neighbors, students, and friends being fired, targeted, and disappeared. It is real.

We're now tracking Mutual Academic Defense Compact (MADC) resolutions at @wearehighered.bsky.social! See the link below for the text of resolutions as Faculty Senates pass them across the country. And follow us to hear more MADC news as it comes our way. www.wearehighered.org/campuses-bat...

If you missed the history of El Salvadoran "death squads" in the 1980s and their role in advancing US foreign policy interests, I suggest you read up quickly.

Really does seem to be a decent argument that the mainstream news media wanted Trump to win because he'd be good for ratings.

Would Bukele carry out mass exterminations of prisoners if asked? Of course he would. This is why we are *well* down the train tracks to Auschwitz already.

El Salvador is now apparently the US version of Siberia?

DEMOCRATIC ELECTEDS: You need to be holding hearings like Raskin/Schiff did but on the bloodbaths at Social Security and IRS. DOGE can now pocket everyone's personal information. IRS is being set up to make billionaire taxes optional; no more phone support # at SSA. HOLD THE HEARINGS.

Trump is the worst of all possible worlds. Aggressive enough to prompt retaliation. Weak enough to give up quickly. Stupid enough not to know the difference.

We need Congressional hearings on the role of Palantir at IRS. And we need them *immediately*.

Instead of resigning ... is there some more potent form of protest available? Something likely to be seen as more aggressive than stepping out of the way?

Is there another move here after the resignation? Or does this largely turn the keys over to the vandals?

they want jim crow history for a jim crow society

It was clear from the very start that DOGE had nothing at all to do with "efficiency" or "savings" - it was about political control, and nothing else.

I hate to say this, and it gives me the chills just to think it, but CECOT is on (and not a short way down) the road to Auschwitz.
