My daughter noticed her first "King Charles" head toonie in her allowance on Sunday. Dated 2024, I buy her allowance coins by the roll, so I guess I've had it for a while. Still, felt "the passing of an age." No more Lizzie on the coins.

The NDP should take a long view, and not despair of a Poilievre government. Aim to form the opposition as the only left-leaning party that isn't a cult of personality. There will be an election after Poilievre is elected. Aim to form government there.

Canada has a population 25% larger than California; and has about 80% the GDP per capita of Mississippi in $USD. It wants single payer health care, and strong gun control. If annexed it would be the single largest player in the Electoral College, and the House. Annexing Canada is a DNC play.
