We've been working the past 3 days on a purifier donation to Clean Air LA from our friends at @smarterhepa.bsky.social, and everything arrived yesterday! Many high-powered purifiers are now in evacuation shelters around Los Angeles, cleaning the air of wildfire smoke & airborne pathogens. 🩵

I'm beyond upset to hear from residents in San Diego about the harshness of the air they are breathing. We have a preprint that shows the high levels of just ONE toxic gas, hydrogen sulfide. There are hundreds more!! No one should be asked to breathe this air. Help!! chemrxiv.org/engage/chemr...

This is a pattern that’s been recognized for some time…respiratory infections diffuse up the age gradient. Daycares and schools are amplifiers. For diseases that spread through air, a focus on ventilation and filtration in areas where kids could probably blunt this
