Stephanie Kelton - "We can, and must, tax the rich. But not because we can't afford to do anything without them. We should tax billionaires to rebalance the distributions of wealth and income and to protect the health of our democracy" France to introduce a 2% wealth tax on those worth over €100m.

When politicians like Keir Starmer talk about "lifestyle choices" how come it's always to condemn the poor, rather than to highlight the greed and corruption of the rich?

The state needs defence from neoliberals as well as fascists www.taxresearch.org.uk/Blog/2025/02... If the state is to be defended from the attacks it now faces, we have to understand why it is failing, and that is by neoliberal choice. This one is wonkish, I admit, but should be worth your effort.

Labour and their supporters would like this shared, so I thought I would add some facts. The ‘2million extra appointments’ that were delivered July - November 2024 were compared to the same period in 2023. That would be the time when Drs + Nurses were on strike and weren’t delivering appointments 🤔

💥 I’ve just signed the petition calling for a “National Commission on Electoral Reform” - Will YOU sign too? actionstorm.org/petitions/nc...

American politics is two cults who insist they're the only ones not in a cult

Pledging that focusing on growth will magically deliver prosperity for all is just the same old impossible theory of 'trickle-down' economics Then add in the lead weights of more austerity; more impoverishment policies; no real reforms of the housing market; and inaction against the wealth-hoarding

This quote from former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt seems relevant under the current circumstances.

Keir Starmer's own staff have briefed that he is a useless waste of space. But they're the real problem. They have no answers to the country's problems. And it's time to stand up to them 👇 www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
