What do you do when the President of the most powerful empire in the world has declared war on residents? First, you remember it has always done so wrt to BIPOC groups, poor folx, immigrants & refugees, queers & much more. Then, you make a firm decision that fighting bullets w bullets won’t work.

Re: National Guard in LA. Remember that in his first term Trump straight up asked Army to KILL leftist protesters and implement latest in sound/microwave weapons. They are potentially deadly & permanently disabling “non-lethal weapons.” This time, I am fairly certain we’ll begin to see both.

There’s a serious flip side to the modern “influencer” reality. (It’s the antithesis of the DIY ethic that created punk culture.) I know a young adult whose decisions are nearly entirely made based on Tik Tok influencers. Ergo, she is “influenced” despite thinking she’s made her own best decisions.

1/ #Selfharm is often wrongly attributed only to teens, much like anorexia, both of which afflict all ages. The saddest thibgs I’ve seen in prisons are the # of women & men who cut, burn, slam their heads against walls etc. It’s worst in solitary. (Cont)

One of the most important points I’ve tried to make repeatedly is how this madness didn’t start w/ Trump. Bush’s tactics after 9/11–abetted by a massive Patriot Act that was prepared & ready to go immediately after the attacks—cost the lives of millions & resulted in disappearances in the U.S.
