ooh we're playing the "who was the Beloved Disciple?" game?! I actually like the idea that it's Lazarus (BD doesn't show up until after the raising; Lazarus is described as "the one [Jesus] loved") but I also love the "surprise, the beloved disciples is ME, your author!" at the end of John's gospel

Starting ~24 hours of travel that will culminate in one of my favorite things: a flight that lands before it takes off. Looking forward to being a time-traveler again! (I was a time traveler for years from the first time I circumnavigated, but undid it by going the opposite way the second time.)

The big subtext: It's low-grade unusual for Catholic bishops to do sign-on letters with other traditions, but high-grade unusual for a *group* of bishops (as opposed to individual prelates) to do so in a way that pushes beyond what the USCCB has done, much less on the same day!
