ASAN works to make sure people understand that autism isn’t a bad thing. It's a developmental disability—and disability is a natural part of human diversity.

"[Potential changes to Medicaid] would dramatically alter states’ budgets and could curtail or end care for millions of people with disabilities."

Today, Trump issued an Executive Order saying that the administration would be establishing a commission to attempt to lower the prevalence of autism and chronic health conditions. ASAN will be joining efforts to push back against its harmful ideas and policies.

Thank goodness for the American Medical Association. Here is their YouTube page. Please share far and wide. Right now bird flu is spreading throughout our country and most people have no clue. Please stay updated and bookmark this page for your health and well-being. www.youtube.com/@americanmed...

Why can't I copy and paste ob Bluesky?

Work requirements are meant as cuts to Medicaid. They make it harder for disabled people to get the services we need to survive. We can stop this - meet with your elected officials and tell them #HandsOff Medicaid! We can show you how:

Make the call! U.S. Capital Switchboard 202-224-2131. They will connect you to your representative. Or call Congress at 866-426-2631 and leave a message.

Congress is rushing cuts to Medicaid – a health insurance program for children and adults with low incomes, seniors in long-term care, pregnant women and people with disabilities. Tell Congress to stop cuts and protect critical care for those who need it the most. #HandsOffOurMedicaid

A big thanks to all who protested today! I wish I could have been with you. All I see democratic politicians doing is talking and asking for money.

Cassidy—a doctor—has violated his Oath and is a yes on Kennedy. Kennedy is now almost certain to be confirmed. People will die because of this; Kennedy at DHHS will cause deaths, full stop. The crazy thing is, no one even doubts it. But also no one cares, so here we are.

Want to learn what Medicaid is, how it helps people with disabilities, or how we fought Medicaid cuts in 2017 (and how we can stop them again)? Check out our recording of our webinar, “What is Medicaid and what how can we save it — again?”

📝👊 Fuck yes! That's what we're talking about. #PritzkerResists

Our community cannot rest until there is justice for all people with disabilities—and funding policy work by and for us is a key part of that. We’re an organization by and for the autistic community. Pledge your support today: https://buff.ly/4e3GZ95

As chilling a meme as I have seen. But I agree.

Take action to protect Medicaid! Learn how to set up meetings with your legislator’s offices and talk to them about why Medicaid is important. https://buff.ly/4gg2tk5

What frontotemporal dementia looks like.

Take action to #StopRFK! His long record of spreading misinformation about autism in particular and public health in general makes him a disastrous choice for HHS Secretary.

ASAN wants to change the conversation that we, as a society, have about gun violence and people with mental health disabilities. Misinformation and stereotypes hurt some of the most marginalized people in our society. We can do better.
