I was having a discussion about battery-powered riding mowers on Reddit yesterday when someone chimed in with Tim the Tool Man Taylor-esque "argh argh" noises, saying I should have bought gas-powered. It's 2025, why do we treat gas versus electric like some sort of masculinity contest?

I enjoy talking to other dads that are involved just as much physically as they are emotionally with their kids. Not to exclude anyone, but you don’t hear about the mental and emotional changes that people go through when they raise kids & a lot of men just don’t like talking about it.

Providence elementary parents, please ignore the man walking his kid to school today with what seemed to be a leash. It was a Santa Claus tie, and she was pretending to be a feral cat. I’ve noticed an uptick in people talking on their phone in public. Delivery people always seem to be talking to someone to pass the time away, I’m talking about folks walking the aisles in grocery stores and such. I HATE talking on the phone, especially if it’s idle conversation.

I don’t get jealous of much, but having extended family that helps out consistently would be amazing right about now. 3 of 4 in the house are sick and we could sure use a break to recover. Jojo doesn’t like when I nap, so earlier I woke up to her basically wrestling me in my sleep. She won.

One kid got accepted into magnet school while the other didn’t. Super proud of Maggie because her acceptance was based on her talent, not a lottery selection like Jojo. Hopefully Jo gets in once some other kids move on so we can get her out of public school before it breaks all of our spirits.

Parenting a spicy kid always feels like a roller coaster, especially when they wake up sick, but today felt like a win. Jojo woke up happy, ate multiple times without a fight, we had a good tickle fight, and as per usual she wanted to snuggle me all day since she wasn’t feeling well. I’ll take it!
