you don't talk about stuff like eggs or long lines at national parks because those are more important than the coup against the rule of law. you talk about that stuff because getting low information americans mad at Trump about that stuff is a precondition to getting them to care about the big stuff

LLMs are the great dunce mask-off moment. If you think these things are magical you are credulous beyond redemption. How would a person who doesn't have the knowledge have the ability to tell between correct and incorrect answers? How would they know what to ask?

Wherever possible please buy your books directly from authors and/or publishers. Even ebooks (then Amazon can't delete them either). We make a better cut and you get the same thing or better, plus Bezos and ilk don't get richer. Win win win.

There’s a lot going on right now, don’t forget to breathe and take care of yourself. My self-care of the day was finishing rough draft round 2 to be sent to my copy editors! A shark never sleeps hopefully will be released in March or April. Anyone got a good non-Amazon self-publisher?

I cannot emphasize enough how stupid it is to publicly threaten DOGE employees with violence. You might think it's fun to blow off steam, but trust me: the FBI raiding your home at 5am is not fun. A federal criminal case will bankrupt you and ruin your life and career.

Nothing will replace friends in the real world, and you have to do a lot more work to find them as you get older. Best way is to join clubs around hobbies, and be forgiving when friends with kids have to flake out.

the best thing about having dealt with addiction in the past is i have no illusions about social media: it is a drug. we are all addicted. the people who deny this are rationalizing the way people with addictions do that. no shame, but that's what all this is.
