That’s what freedom of speech actually looks like.

Just sent out a free post on the real meaning of the Trump-Zelensky press conference. Trump admitted he was trying to do Putin’s dirty work and force a bad ceasefire on Ukraine. And Zelensky refused to simply shut up and do what the enemies of freedom wanted. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

Trump and Vance act as if the problem is that Ukraine is resisting an ongoing Russian invasion. The problem is the ongoing Russian invasion. If they want to use American power to stop the war, apply it to the aggressor. Abusing the victim is not going to end a war of aggression.

This presser was a horror show. Ukraine will not have US support going forward, because Trump and Vance are completely lost. Europe will step-up and this war will continue. Trump blew this bigger than any foriegn policy folly in recent history.

Yes, this is definitely the first case in human history that a nation bleeding out under attack has a knife by its throat from yesterday’s biggest friend in need that went bonkers and switched to Al Capone-style racketeering amid war.

Such hostile nonsense from Americans in power just now. I wish we would listen to people who have suffered for reporting the truth, like Stanislav Aseyev, combat veteran and survivor of a Russian torture camp.

To the @GOP senators and Congressmen who claim to support Ukraine, you do have some power… if you’re unwilling to exercise it then don’t pretend to care about your country more than your political career:

I try to keep the language on here… PG… but in this case i can’t. You, Trump, are a traitorous piece of shit

Just when you think Donald Trump cannot sink lower or be more shameful, today he's blaming Ukraine for the war and calling Zelinsky a dictator, when he knows perfectly well that Putin's constant re-elections are put-up jobs.

Absolutely spot on from @eliotacohen.bsky.social www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Donald Trump just fired Paul Martin - the Inspector General of USAID - for issuing a report indicating that half-a-billion dollars worth of food for hungry people around the world was about to spoil. So I guess the best thing we can do in response is to share that report far-and-wide.

The dichotomy of life in modern Ukraine exemplified by two photos taken an hour apart in Lviv - Christmas celebrations give way to honoring a fallen defender.
