Every passing day of this administration makes me believe I would be a better president simply by demanding Congress pass laws limiting my own executive power.

2/3 of the Smithsonian Institute's budget is federal grants. Money that funds 17 museums in our nations capital, including the National Zoo. Among the other things being torn apart by the current administration, I fear for the Smithsonian. A Washington without the museums.

I think sometimes about how when I graduated from college for a job in defense, I had to gather all my information for a security clearance, upload, triple check and submit it in a span of 2 weeks. I then went to get finger printed twice. Even then I needed a higher level escort around the place.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau. There are not many survivors left alive, either of Auschwitz or of the Holocaust as a whole. Today, and every day, do not forget their lives. And do not forget the millions of lives cut short by genocide, hate, and paranoia.
