now the supreme court will rule on "how much melanin is ladylike?"

The UK Supreme Court can rule whatever it likes about whether trans women are legally women or not. The law will eventually change and equality will prevail. Fuck this government and its alignment with such hate.

THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE

Disabled people are disproportionately likely to be in poverty. Are disproportionately likely to face barriers in all aspects of life. Are constantly treated like children, second class citizens, or are dehumanised. There is no privilege in being disabled.

The Stanford Prison Experiment (1971) asks the question: "What if a professor made a load of stuff up, but everyone believed him because he looked like a magician?"

The money is going to what now

Telling someone who is struggling that "others have it worse" isn't motivational, nor appropriate. Everyone's struggles are real and valid to them, and we should never dismiss or try to "help" them by giving "context"... Because it doesn't work like that.

"I never thought he'd take us back to 1929," sobs woman who thought she was only voting for someone who'd take us back to 1950

Elon Musk has said he’s inspired by the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, which is presumably why he became a mindless jerk who’ll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes.

inside of you are two wolves (because you just ate something labelled 'beef' in america and they fired everyone whose job it was to enforce food standards)

Students have always been asking their mums to sort out their laundry. The future earl of Rutland, Roger Manners, wrote to his mum from Queen's College Cambridge in March 1588 (aged 12), leaving this postscript: 'Good madame have me in remebraunce for some linnen.'

the entire political project of the american right is to create a hierarchy with protected in-groups and punished out-groups. there is no moral nor political upside in meeting them half way on any of those out-groups. the only people in a bubble are those who deny that hierarchy is their agenda

HOTTE LOCAL SINGLES NEARE THEE are ynterested yn chess, falconrye, vernacular adaptaciouns of the Troy myth, gentle talke of the mysteryes and paynes of love, elaborate gardens.

“Leftists being more polite and less mean would win over well adjusted liberals“ is such a tell that all liberals value is their own comfort

Ableism & eugenics harms everyone. Disabled people are an easy target because we’re seen as “less than”. It’s the product of end stage capitalism which conditions us to see value in terms of how much a person works, not who they are. You can become disabled at any time. Help us fight for inclusion

If you think that we are exaggerating the extent in which the welfare cuts will harm people, we are only using historical precedent and the opinions of the experts and charities who work with disabled people. If you want to deny that, let it lie on your conscience. I won’t.

Most of us who will read this were born into an anomalous period of stability. What happened was a bunch of people who were comfortable got bored and assumed no one was struggling and wanted to feel like they were fighting against something. Anyway, here’s Wonderwall youtu.be/bx1Bh8ZvH84?...
