Cold light of day, Liverpool absolutely deserve another title for what they have done over the last 7-8 years, especially as they have almost certainly had titles taken from them due to *redacted* I remain confident Arsenal will do it under Arteta.

Yes, Arsenal scored seven goals against *this* Manchester City this season and that was with a half with 10 men away from home thrown in.

No, but if you’re looking for one, I am aware of a guy you work with that was indicted four times and convicted of thirty-four felonies.

This is fascism.

Happy Valentine's Day, America.

Watching the Merseyside Derby and it's amazing how much higher Michael Oliver's second yellow bar is in other matches.

Why is nobody talking about this?

Toe-curling stuff from Man City. Nothing more cringe that humourless people trying to crack a joke. Hohohoho. Also very much doubt this was paid for by "ordinary fans".

Just deliberately crashing and then restoring the market and rich people betting on it happening and enriching themselves. Nothing to see here.

Gary Neville is unbelievable. Calling Gabriel disrespectful and saying it made him feel uneasy, but go listen to the commentary for Haaland's goal: Neville says he 'has to' go after Gabriel to celebrate and says he's 'gone the wrong way' when he heads to the City fans.

That was so much fun. I've waited ages for us to pump that lot and it proved to be immensely satisfying. 57,000 people singing "Stay humble you cunt" off the cuff is truly the stuff of football crowd dreams.

Nwaneri came on the 84th minute. He had more touches than Haaland.

Arsenal were nine points behind Liverpool after MatchDay 11. We're now heading into MatchDay 24 and Arsenal are still effectively nine points adrift. Since MatchDay 11 Arsenal have 28 points from 12 matches and Liverpool have 25 from 11 games.

Unsurprisingly, the independent commission have overturned Myles Lewis-Skelly’s red card. He will not serve any suspension. Total embarrassment for PGMOL, who should have just owned the obvious mistake and taken responsibility, but of course they didn’t….

Arsenal have won their appeal against Myles Lewis-Skelly’s red card on the grounds of wrongful dismissal. His ban has been rescinded. @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/608...

It wouldn’t surprise me one jot if, now that the media narrative has been spun by PGMOL, this doesn’t get overturned, because whoever is on the panel won’t be able to divorce the incident itself from the fallout re: abuse. arseblog.news/2025/01/arse...

I demand as little referee in my daily existence as physically possible | Jonathan Liew

Imagine working in a job in which you have complete autonomy & act with impunity deciding the fates of others who’ve worked a million times harder & sacrificed a million times more to be there & feeling ‘A little bit aggrieved’ when you’re criticised for making a monumental fuck up.

Glad to see the Lewis Skelly red is being roundly condemned but we can’t treat it as a black swan event or a one off aberration. Webb is trying to create a culture of referees being stars and it needs to stop and it needs to be called out.

Even Wrighty has called Oliver and the PGMOL out - quite right too. Fucking disgraceful!

As it stands, Myles Lewis-Skelly is suspended for 3 games due to that travesty of a decision from Michael Oliver. We have to appeal. The red card alone was unjust, missing three games on top of that is just not acceptable.

MONSTROUS WIN Michael Oliver tried to cheat the boys out of the title race, again... and he failed. Superb result. Some MASSIVE performances. That has got to be very good for the morale heading into a tough run!

Easy. Next. Fuck. You. Michael. Oliver.

Apparently this is yellow and what MLS did was red. VAR rubber stamps on field ref decision, which is their number one priority

Michael Oliver has sent two players off this season. Both Arsenal players.

Joao Gomes - On a booking - kicks the ball away. No card of course

"did Joao Gomes just get away with kicking the ball away"

My head is absolutely gone. This season has been draining enough without these incompetent, attention seeking frauds dictacting more results for us. Every week I'm watching leg breaking challenges, elbows and studs on shins go unpunished - yet that's a red card. Fuck off.

the only reason that's a red card is because Michael Oliver is the referee

Please tell me in what world, a trip - 85 YARDS FROM GOAL - is considered a red card. That's the most textbook yellow card you will see. Where is the precedent for a decision like that? There isn't any because Arsenal are always the precedent.
