i keep thinking about this

After months of striking, some therapists with Kaiser Permanente stopped eating for five days to bring attention to their union's demands for parity with how the company's other workers are treated.

“A fascist society is one in which some people are deputized to do violence, and everyone else is forced to defend themselves…If we are to have any hope of surviving the coming dark age, we need mutual aid—not just to keep people housed and fed, but to keep them connected.” 1/3

cop in The Wicker Man (leaving unharmed because he slept with that hot blonde): what a strange, sexy island

this was a good interview that really humanized red sullivan. she comes across as very aware and undeniably 19 (barely an adult!). i'm so sorry for what she's been through but i hope she knows a ton of people are supporting her

Shame on Planned Parenthood of Arizona for dropping their trans patients because of threats from Trump. What happens when they make you stop providing abortions? Birth control? PReP? Gonna roll over then too? These orgs complying are cowardly.

it's one thing to say "sadly, trump was inevitably going to deny disaster relief for political reasons" but this new strain of "this was inevitable and actually i'm GLAD it's happening! people need to suffer" is bad + curious why, post-covid, ppl think suffering is going to lead to positive change

Update: KS, UT, and AR have passed bills in 2025 preventing the state from considering whether prospective foster or adoptive parents intend to affirm gay or trans children. OH, MO, IN, NC and SC are voting on similar bills; SC is currently working to give official priority to non-affirming parents.

in the US, a lot of cis people refuse to pay attention to the mistreatment and abuse trans people experience. why? bc if they took it seriously it would destroy their trust and faith in every institution across this country

It would appear CNN was also at the eugenics conference? Why are all these mainstream news orgs at a 200-person event where all the speakers are eugenicists and racists? www.cnn.com/2025/04/11/u...

i don't want to be unnecessarily mean to people, but i saw multiple replies saying they didn't understand the math here 😭 HOW? calculating 10% and addition are extremely basic math skills that you use all the time in real life... this is basic math literacy

They’ll do it in a few high profile cases to set examples. People will say, “No way this holds up in court.” Maybe. But we now know the plan: they’ll do it first, then dare the courts to stop them. And this too will be very difficult for courts to undo. This is end of democracy stuff.

Trump tried to bury this story on a Friday night, but it’s extremely important: He’s planning to take land on the border controlled by the Dept. of Interior and sign it over to Dept. of Defense so migrants “would have trespassed on a military installation,” resulting in harsher punishment.

normalizing fascism works, folks. An older relative of mine recommended I watch this b/c "he's a liberal."

"objectively beautiful" and it's just white girls wearing those stupid hats... this society sucks so bad. we don't even have decent aesthetics to go along with our decadence

This story hasn’t gotten nearly enough attention. It is openly fraudulent what they’re doing.

it's been developing for years: - "concerns" about falling birth rates - journalistic puff pieces about these creeps presenting them as wacky - tradwives dominating social media - rise in open white supremacy - anti-trans "irreversible damage" bs - outlawing abortion - anti-immigrant wave

💃I think they would both be good at dancing 💃 #beiguang

being able to see so much art lovingly made by hand, endlessly, daily, has got to be one of the biggest boons of the digital age and one we take for granted. think of all the accumulated labor, love, hardship, etc. we are treated to in the form of illustration, writing, craft. for free, always.
