Very excited to be working on this book with Abby. It’s a huge honor.

Roads have been pretty much impassable since Tuesday, and temps are in the single digits right now. And like, sure yeah, but I want a burrito so bad and life is just not playing with me today.

Was literally JUST thinking about how much I have been CRAVING a sci-fi romp on today’s stay-at-home snow day, when lo and behold CHAOS by @constancefay.bsky.social drops on my doorstep!!! Y’all, I adore this series, and now I have a perfect read to savor this day. Could not be more excited!

I don’t wanna hear nobody talk shit about beans ever again.

Hey, you: Preorder this book.

Debut books are so much fun to read. I get so excited to find a new voice and discover so many elements of craft and story alongside other readers. I dunno, I am really just so happy that my library gets a little bigger, that the table seats one more. Keep bringing in new books!

I want to go back to an age when all I really had to worry about was jumping out of that purple water in Chemical Plant Zone.

Ho. Lee. Crap. What a cover!

Reposting this again because these collections are all straight fire. Tiffany is among the best storytellers I know, plus ToSH 2024 may be our best antho to date. And then Alexis’s collection is the single best collection of flash fiction I have ever read. This is a humdinger of a giveaway.

Almost out of time to enter!! Get a move on, people!

Started WHITE LINE FEVER by @pnwscribe.bsky.social tonight, and good golly am I so in love with his craft in this book. The way this book builds up its suspense and tension is just excellent. I bought 3 copies of BLACK TIDE when it came out. I might buy 4 of this one.

You have to live. You don't know what you're doing if you choose otherwise. You don't know the future you're ending or the people you're destroying. If it takes change or love or even out of spite or the hope of revenge, WHATEVER IT TAKES, you have to live.

Read Cynthia Gómez. Support her work and other writers like her. This is the stuff that pushes back.

I know it really isn't surprising to anyone at all who knows me, but damn do I love Redwall as a series.

Do me a favor today: Find the author of the last book you read and loved and tell them how good a job they did. Writing is lonely, and every writer I know can use a genuine pick-me-up.

GIVEAWAY ALERT! Win a copy of How Lovely to Be a Woman: Stories and Poems by me, Tales of Sley House 2024 from @sleyhousepresents.bsky.social, and Nineteen Little Stab Wounds by @dubonicplague.bsky.social. To enter, share your favorite horror short story in the comments below by Feb 13!

Very cool to see a review of ATACAMA out. This one is real cool and coming your way soon!

So so so proud of these two and cannot wait to hang out!

thissssss. I didn't know my book was banned until someone told me. and everyone I've spoken to about it irl has said something along the lines of "wow, hehehe, that'll make it popular with the kids!" No. It won't. It'll stop queer kids from having easy access. It hasn't boosted sales at *all.*

Checking in on people. Inviting friends over to eat and commiserate. Planning a summer camp that welcomes and affirms LGBTQ kids. Reading books. Listening to music. Playing guitar. Hugging my kids. And also crying a lot, I'm not gonna lie

Please, how is anyone staying even remotely sane with the US looking the way it does right now? This is not a "haha, funny comment about the state of things," I mean this with utmost sincerity: What are you doing to keep from melting down every moment of every day?

OMG!! FOUR of my short stories are on the BSFA longlist! "Protista," "The Theseus Stone," "Upon the Gloaming Hour," and "The Dewdrop Bot and the Honey Fae." Thank you! If you are a BSFA voter, I'd love to have your shortlist nomination! www.bsfa.co.uk/bsfa-...

I am so frickin ready

My mom gave @allyoutthere.bsky.social 5 stars for IT CAME FROM THE TREES, and that’s how you know it’s a great flipping book.

I really want to get ahead on my TBR and edit an episode, but I don't have the emotional spoons this week. Instead, it seems all my brain is craving is Star Wars books. Just... heaps and heaps of Star Wars crunching around in my brain.

Wrote my first short story of the year. No idea at all what the fuck it is, but its first is done and that’s all that matters in the end.
