Incredibly disrespectful, and openly admits that the only way America would be interested in helping is if they’re making money - not simply to push back on a violent dictator illegally invading another country and committing countless war crimes.

British troops have fought and died alongside the Americans in Afghanistan and Iraq, just to be written off as non-existent people from "some random country". We have to maintain tolerable relations with this administration to try and minimise damage, but my god it's not easy.

In the post-war period, the historical term "a diplomatic revolution" seemed odd and alien, one for the history books. The "sides" were fairly settled, them and us. And now we have a full-scale diplomatic revolution. It is a strange experience to watch and experience it in real-time.

What an insultingly ignorant statement from Vance. Now, that’s real disrespect

Completely agree. This is where lessons from the present and from distant history are so important: from Gaza, from the civil rights movement. From those activists who have succeeded in making people see and believe the unseeable and the unbelievable.

Trumps version of peace is leaving Ukrainians to get slaughtered

And acts of violence come in many forms - slashing foreign aid that gives life saving care will result in many thousands of avoidable deaths. And that will happen because of choices made by Musk and Trump

Debunked 3 times last week in press conferences, yet he freely wheels out the same lies. Brazen

It does make you wonder if Trudeau has had any conversations with European leaders about what would happen to Canada if they needed help. Really dark times, we can’t just assume this stuff is too outrageous to happen now

So, he claims gold is missing in Fort Knox, and pursues a crypto scam?

Weakening Ukraine hardly gives them any more ‘cards’ as Trump so poorly put it. Seems deliberate to allow Russia to benefit

"You know who else is overrated? David Attenborough, the late Queen and your actual children," Farage added.

You could easily get confused that they’re pro Russia with stuff like this…

Pausing emergency aid for weeks won’t result in any deaths. He’s sure about that on the ground is he?

This is the empire’s final revenge - when you’ve lost the war so you murder whole cities of your captives as the enemy advances, then flee. He may as well have launched nuclear bombs at these people, and he and his fellow sadists know it. Of everything he has done so far, this is for me the worst.

The problem for Starmer is that Trump has switched sides already.

And Farage taking the side of Putin tells us everything we need to know about his view

Still shocking that when the Russia report was eventually dragged out into public, after so many delays from Johnson, it stated that they hadnt even sought the answer to the question about Russian interference. And then we've just done nothing since.

Great news for money launderers!

This unspeakable piece of shit has been sucking up to Putin since the early 'don't-poke-the Russian-bear' days of the invasion. It seems he's now set on torching his own domestic reputation as part of his slavish devotion.

Why is this far right grifter on yet again? This is what's wrong with the country and why it's getting worse. We dont need to continually hear from the Trump and Putin apologist, we need to hear sensible and credible voices on these important and dangerous subjects. Foolhardy as ever from Ferrari

With Tulsi Gabbard’s comments earlier also pushing Russian talking points, it doesn’t seem like they’re even hiding it

It is shocking, though sadly not surprising given her record before her appointment, that the US Director of National Intelligence, who has access to accurate information on Ukraine from the agencies she directs, instead transmits nothing but Kremlin propaganda.

All seems perfectly normal, Russia are no longer a threat to the US, I see. And Russia are standing down all their planning against the US too I assume, right?

Let’s see the fraud - it’s been a month of constant claims, so file charges

And crossing his arms to signify the lies being told. These people are traitors, I think we’re clear on Trump and his lot now

Have they ever been watched how Trump behaves, what he says and what he does? They think we’re all thick and have no memory. Astonishing arrogance

These people forever live in a void of consequences. What a massive twat

Why is a far right extremist still getting so much media attention? They should be asking Ed Davey questions, not allowing that nasty piece of work to amplify his lies

They do seem to really struggle to clearly articulate what Trump is and what he’s doing - the same fear that stopped them describing Tories as what they were for years. But this is pathetic - even the daily mail is being patriotic

sometimes a picture tells a thousand words

A draw for the first game of a new era isn’t terrible, but as the table already shows - not good enough if we want the playoffs. Terrible time for a manager change as we all know, but he’s got to make a rapid impact with a limited squad. Will be tough

They are no longer the good guys - but we’re now cutting aid too, who will fill the void?

This would be continually embarrassing for Trump sycophants if there were any standards or consequences for these people, but there isn’t. This week we watched Trump lie 3 times about European support in front of 3 different European leaders, corrected by Macron and Starmer, but he doesn’t care

The media continues to frame Trump’s behaviour as somehow genial, maverick when it’s extreme, unacceptable and petulant. Calling out his ignorance and lies calmly is not ‘fiery’

Again, the richest man in human history personally individually directed this

I will never forget the photo of Zelenskyy’s face after he saw Russia’s war crimes in Bucha in 2022. He seemed to age years in an afternoon. Watching him constantly cross the world asking for aid that should have been thrown at him is one of the deepest shames of our age.

Also, he didn't say anything that wasn't true, didn't raise his voice and was polite, and this argument presumes that Trump and Vance weren't looking for a pretext to end the negotiations.

Can confirm that UK-based far right and conspiracy theorist/anti-vaxx Telegram networks are absolutely pumped about what Trump and Vance did to Zelensky in the Oval Office They are celebrating it as public "humiliation"

This was baked in from the moment he won the election and absolutely nothing Zelensky could have said or done would have prevented it.

“Mr President, you’ve lost the Telegraph editorial page”

This risks being a Rishi-on-D-Day moment I think.

What we’re witnessing in America is what happens when disordered discourse captures a political party, then the state itself. The Republican Party was the first to fall - abandoning truth for conspiracy, ideology for grievance, and policy for performative outrage.

Donald Trump has disgraced the United States of America in countless ways since he first entered political life ten years ago. But he had never disgraced the nation as badly as he did today. He has brought shame on this country to an extent I had never thought possible. And he has only just begun.

This feels ill-advised for the domestic audience – and for many of the European leaders Starmer is hosting this weekend. Playing both sides against the middle only gets you so far, especially in these times.

What a disingenuous line this was from Vance today: "you guys are going around...forcing conscripts to the frontlines because you have manpower problems" meduza.io/en/feature/2... 1. Yes, that's how total wars work 2. This admin—like last one—ASKED Ukraine to expand conscription
