Leon dumped his human shield.

It is time to end the special relationship with Trump. We stand with Ukraine. 🇺🇦

BREAKING: France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain & UK sign a joint statement vowing to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty & demanding a role in the peace talks. This is leadership. It’s also unprecedented. A western alliance is having to form against a new, twin & united threat: Trump & Putin.

BlueSky; You have homework. The mission? To correct Google of incorrect information. Do the following. There are 27.44 million registered individuals on BlueSky if all of you do this we can correct Google. Get Going, Resistors! Comment and tell you've done this.

The right used to accuse the left of being a ‘cancel culture.’ Well, I think it’s pretty obvious that right-wing cancel culture has officially arrived.

Assisted Dying: If the aim of the Committee stage is - as has been repeatedly claimed - to ensure that the UK ends up with the safest possible legislation, then how is the bias inherent in this witness list possibly conducive to that end?

"What's that gun? Sto-" Captain Clever shouted. Dr. Dastard pulled the trigger. "-p!" The Captain looked around the grey, featureless void. "Where..." "It's a superhero dimension shifter. It moves a hero - you - and their foe - me - here until one is defeated." "Why?" "To protect civilians."

This is a hostile takeover of the federal government by a private citizen of unlimited means with no restrictions and no transparency. Welcome to the Deep State www.reuters.com/world/us/mus...

Gosh, I remember when we had an actual president instead of a loudmouth bully who won't take responsibility for his actions.

The USAF removed Tuskegee Airmen & Women Airforce Service Pilots of WWII from basic training curriculum. For 30 years I promised these women I would not let them ever be forgotten again. We worked for decades to have them remembered. The Airmen too. Knowledge is power. 🗃️ www.msn.com/en-us/societ...

Ohh boy. First the Bishop, now the Pope. 🙏

Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde. She has more courage than every single one of our politicians on both sides combined!!

All kinds of billionaires and heads of corporations have been caving in to Trump, but an episcopal bishop had the courage to stand firm on the message of Jesus and the prophets. Nicely done, Bishop Budde! Or, I should say, well done, good and faithful servant.

Today, the gospel of Christ was spoken as John the Baptist spoke to Herod. Today, the Right Rev. Marian Edgar Budde looked into the face of a president and spoke to truth with the courage of a gladiator who defied an emperor. May we all find a portion of her courage. youtu.be/xwwaEuDeqM8?...

President Donald Trump was sued over an executive order that would make it easier to fire high-level civil service employees

the thing I don't get about the third reich wannabeism is don't they know how that ended?

407,316 Americans died to defeat Nazism, and that South African motherfucker just pissed on all their graves

The vice-president a week ago. “Obviously.”

I *really* hope that events don't make this pastor a latter day Martin Niemöller. But the number & identity of prominent people currently excusing or denying Musk's Nazi salutes does not fill me with hope.

Odd that big British and French and Irish and Israeli news organizations have already posted stories on this, but not yet the @nytimes.com or @washingtonpost.com.

Newly appointed Pensions Minister @torstenbell.bsky.social has suggested #WASPI women apply for Pension Credit. The compensation we require is entirely separate from the benefits system. It’s redress for the State-level injustice caused by DWP proven and acknowledged maladministration.

The BBC website finds space to comment on the 'best inauguration pictures' and 'Melania's hat and other eye-catching looks' but there's next-to-no comment on how horrible, unusual and frightening much of what Trump said is. Nothing on Musk's salutes. U think this is normal? Does anybody care?

This is deeply strange. Why would the Times edit a transcript to make a powerful speaker's words appear less unhinged? gizmodo.com/marc-andrees...

My own opinion is that it's good to signal (through words and/or actions) the virtues that you value; that's one of the most important parts of maintaining a healthy community.

Here's our full story on the Meta news today, which goes far beyond an end to fact-checking and heralds a wider pullback from content moderation as Zuckerberg repositions the company for the Trump era. Gift link: wapo.st/4h223hP

Make no mistake. Every politician, pundit & online grifter amplifying Musk's dangerous lies will be aware of this intervention by now. Make no mistake, they are choosing to mislead the public & politicise the suffering of victims in the shameful pursuit of political advantage, attention & clicks.

Mr. President, can you rule out [crazy thing]? Normal president, thinking like a national leader, aims to reassure and avoid craziness in anticipation, says yes. Trump, thinking like a TV producer, aims for current and future attention, says no. Have to adjust questions to the new reality, media.

Four years ago today, when Facebook suspended Trump after his supporters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, Mark Zuckerberg said "the risks of allowing the president to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great."

Let’s be clear—the fact checkers have not “been” politically biased as Zuck suggests, but have been *perceived as such* because of politically motivated efforts to smear them, one that Zuck is now participating in and capitulating to. 1/

In 1979, Jimmy Carter installed solar panels on the White House. In 1986, Ronald Reagan tore them down along w/Carter’s clean energy funding. This sums up the difference between the two men & political parties. Investing in solutions for the future vs canceling progress to score political points.

According to Barron’s, Elon Musk’s wealth increased by almost $200 billion between November 5 and December 20. That means he could give $250,000 to every homeless person in the US and still be as rich as he was on November 5.

Yvette Cooper in 2017: "I'll keep fighting for a fair deal for WASPI women"

As Liz Kendall stands at the despatch box right now, telling hundreds of thousands of WASPI women they won’t receive a penny in compensation, there are multiple articles on her website proclaiming support for WASPI women 👇

The @waspicampaign.bsky.social decision by @teamlabouruk.bsky.social and Liz Kendall is covered by nearly every front page, will Labour MPs have any appetite to change the Govt decision ?

For several years, I campaigned for Labour and attended many WASPI events with high-profile MP's. They promised that they would reverse the decision to change the retirement age. This is a betrayal. It proves politicians will do anything for votes & for a nice picture at the end of it.

Parliament must have its say! https://buff.ly/3P1vuVm Chair of the Waspi campaign group, Angela Madden, says many MPs are "as incredulous as we are" that compensation will not be paid @marisharay.bsky.social @libdemwomen.bsky.social @lizjarvis.bsky.social @waspicampaign.bsky.social

This is unbearable.

New Christmas lights just went up in Clacton. (Farage is still the MP who makes most money from second jobs. By a long way.)

Syrians just opened up Assad’s presidential garage. This is what the Ba’ath Party’s Arab Socialism looks like.
