A selection of flowers from recent @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walks in Lancashire and Yorkshire.

From a local short @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walk from Carnforth to #Morecambe #Lancashire.

Some scenes from a beautiful Easter Sunday @slowwaysuk.bsky.social day out around Hellifield and Malham in the #YorkshireDales. Featuring some stylish #Stiles.

More countryside furniture from my @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walks in #YorkshireDales near Malham.

Lovely @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walk in the spring sunshine this week, reviewing the Wantage to Kingston Bagpuize route. Even arrived in time at Kingston to watch the Oxfordshire Women’s cricket team thrash Suffolk by 187 runs! 🏏 #SlowWays

Beautiful Hanlith Hall near Malham #Yorkshire spoilt only by an oversized car parked right in front of it. On the @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route from Malham to Airton.

A few pictures from Wednesday's #SlowWays pleasant but unspectacular walk from Retford to Sutton on Trent. I have just one Nottinghamshire SlowWays route left to do, and hope to do Rampton to Gainsborough tomorrow to finish the set (see link below for a map). beta.slowways.org/user/waylist...

I'm so incredibly proud of #SlowWays! ❤️ @slowwaysuk.bsky.social Here's a short thread of maps to show what we've achieved so far - thanks to the efforts of thousands of volunteers. This first map shows 5,500 routes that have been given good reviews 👍 or are verified 🐌✅

There's something so calming about the sound of running water accompanying you on your walk, right?💧 🌿 Photo by volunteer Hugh on a recent Slow Way walk between Hebden Bridge and Brighouse 📸

Enough already! I'm going in! 🚶🏼 #Thornhill > #Dumfries 🤞🏻 Following in your footsteps @maryoz.bsky.social @slowwaysuk.bsky.social #SlowWays 🐌⭐

Walking in the sunshine makes us feel like this!🐴 🌞 Thanks to volunteer Daisy for this wonderful photo, taken as she reached her 2000th kilometre on Slow Ways routes!🚶‍♀️ 🗺️

Just finished a day with the #SlowWays team in #Birmingham, charting big plans for a giant extension of our people-powered walking network. Can't wait to share more. ❤️⭐🐌⚡

A very appropriate start to last week's @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route from St Helens to Newton-le-Willows at St Helens station. @martintravis.bsky.social #UKCanals

I was looking back at some pictures from a @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walk I did with my nephew a while back. I’ve only just noticed what appear to be bullet holes in the footpath sign 😬

A bit more of my @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walk following the Meridian completed! From Uckfield to Lewes. A marvellous day beside the Ouse

A nice little #SlowWays this morning: HolFli Two (Holyhead - Flint). Following the Wat's Dyke Way (which I had muscle memory from walking it a couple of years ago and up and down the hills of north Wales. It'll be snailed once I review it!

"It is incredibly important to understand what grows wild where. It’s hard to support and protect species if you don’t understand them" 🌹 🪷 🪻 🌻 All species seen on an 81-mile trail, by botanist Sarah Woods. Available on our stories channel now 🌼 buildstories.slowways.org/i-work-for-a...

This is Ursula Martin who is walking a 1700-mile book tour, first through Wales & then Land's End to John O'Groats, on Slow Ways! Here she is after staying over with Slow Ways's Hannah in Aberystwyth this week. Follow her 6-month journey at instagram.com/onewomanwalks/ #onewomanwalksslowways ☺️

On the road getting ready for a BIG @SlowWaysUK summer! We've lots of exciting plans to make the network 10X bigger - connecting more people and places in more ways. Just finished a couple of days in #Cardiff with #SlowWays Hannah Engelkamp shooting a film about it. More soon!

A long delayed completion of a series of @slowwaysuk.bsky.social today. I pioneered a new shorter, but hillier route between Flint and Holywell and then set about snailing the Slow Way from there to Prestatyn. Both thoroughly enjoyable. Another excellent day of walking!

#Woodensday #bench at Lanercost near Carlisle @slowwaysuk.bsky.social @myfavouritebench.bsky.social

Three mighty beeches for #ThickTrunkTuesday from @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route between Brampton and Gilsland.

We weren't the only users of the lovely @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route from Chapel Stile to Coniston!

A short detour off @slowwaysuk.bsky.social route ConCha1 took us on a steep, rocky descent into the former quarry at Hodge Close. Very awesome! #Rocks #IndustrialHeritage

Great Britain is full of amazing buildings and interesting architecture and walking is often the best way to see many of them! We love this gorgeous shot captured by a volunteer who recently walked Slow Way Wartis one, a route between Warminster and Tisbury 🏡 🗺️

What are the best GB and Ireland podcasts for people who love the outdoors?

Trains might be quick, but some of the best journeys are slow! You can walk from Leeds to eleven neighbouring towns and cities on a Slow Way now- where will you decide to go?🚶‍♀️

The trees are gradually displaying the signs of spring and this photo of a Slow Way between Gillingham to Chatham taken by volunteer Derick makes us very excited for the warmer months🌼 🌲

Did you know? The average person walks the equivalent of five times around the Earth in their lifetime!🌍 👟 Every step adds up- so where will your next walk take you? We'd love to know! #SlowWays #KeepWalking #StepbyStep

We absolutely love how many interesting details there are to spot in this lovely photo taken by our volunteer Mary as she walked a Slow Way between Solihull and Henley! 📸

We're powered by a brilliant network of volunteers, identifying the best ways to go on existing rights of way. While we're walking we really appreciate the volunteers of other organisations grafting to make those rights of way a nicer, safer experience for us all! 📸 Derick, on Kimpton to Oaklands

Another feature of my @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walk from Haworth to Hebden Bridge was pack horse bridges - three different ones! @kwvrfriends.bsky.social #Yorkshire #Calderdale

#WallsOnWednesday #WednesdayWalls These are some walls I encountered walking a lovely moorland #SlowWays route from Haworth to Hebden Bridge #Yorkshire @slowwaysuk.bsky.social

#Frogspawn in a puddle on a moorland path on @slowwaysuk.bsky.social HebHaw2. #Wildlife #Yorkshire

An unusual @kissinggate.bsky.social just outside Haworth. @slowwaysuk.bsky.social
