@erininthemorning.com the USAF (and likely other branches) are suspending deployment eligibility for trans troops, citing “indefinitely medically disqualified”. I know because I just got notified this morning that my deployment was canceled even though I’m the most qualified to go at my MAJCOM.

Today I read another (seemingly weekly) attack on trans military folk, a Pentagon memo cutting off all gender dysphoria related healthcare. I’m told by medical sources that all surgical procedures are halted, but established patients are still receiving hormone care. But for how long?

Work has been a struggle the past two weeks as military leadership is tight lipped about effects of Trump’s EOs on troops, readiness, and international efforts. The pentagon is defensive of established norms, so they’ve focused on passive aggressive corp speak instead. www.af.mil/DAF-Executiv...

This about sums up my military media job. The brass loves to call us journalists, but we act like PR in every conceivable way. Perhaps 1 in a 100 things I write could be true military journalism, not counting press releases.
