Darth Bane trilogy expanded into a prestige series... ...then Darth Plageius adapted into a silver screen double feature

Unbelievable, this is such a call back as I had T2 on the Master System. It looks like it's going to give Terminator the same kind of treatment that Sonic Origins and Tetris Forever have given their respective franchises.

She isn't joking; Superman III and Jurassic Park set a high bar.

Ladies and gentlemen: we did it.

Since returning to Kirby and the Forgotten Land... I do wonder if Astro Bot has more in common with that, than it does 3D Mario. I think the creative malleability, applied to a relatively blank canvas, more than makes up for the lack of mechanical nuance with charm and inventiveness.

The Larch

Going back through Banjo-Kazooie recently, ahead of playing the sequel, and I couldn't agree more. I think Astro Bot shows there is plenty of wiggle room to innovate in the premium 3D platforming space - outside of Nintendo hardware.

Come to think of it, I would probably narrow mine down to the same two. I think Capcom might just pip it due to the sheer innovation and variety throughout, with Resident Evil 2 Remake being a high watermark. But ask me another day, and I'll say Majora's Mask - the end.

So that's where I've been going wrong all these years...

20 years ago today, Capcom reinvented survival horror and influenced an entire generation of action games with the original release of Resident Evil 4.
