Hot take, but assuming I still had voting rights and was also forcibly prevented from fleeing and was otherwise compelled to comply with whatever horrific situation I was now forced to live in, I would not vote for the Democrats, but some makeshift Canadian separatist party. Always and forever.

Trump is saying America won't defend Canada unless we agree to be the 51st state (we won't). I don't even know how we'd begin extracting our two air forces from each other. We've had integrated defence of the continent since the 1950s. NORAD has also been integrated with NATO that entire time.
