Agreed.

There's been some hay made in the press about the sheer volume of horror films this year, but when was the last time there were this many must see original films worth going out to a theater for? This an incredible year for horror and film in general. So proud to get to run with this pack of films!

THE LIFE of CHUCK is a great film and should be duking it out for best of the year. The story, direction, camera work and performances are A++. Bravo to @mikeflanaganfilm.com and his team. And I loved the dedication to @scottwampler.bsky.social ❤️

Great Interview with a great writer (and press).

This book looks and sounds delightful. I’m in!

Didn’t know this existed. Now I’m on the search.

I had the chance to write about Libby’s incredible debut, THE BIG REWIND, and her new novel NEGATIVE GIRL. If you like crime fiction, great characters, and music, you can’t miss out on either. mysterytribune.com/murder-in-th...

I had the opportunity to meet the always amazing Patricia Arquette over the weekend. I praised her as one of the first to break the old film to TV barrier and do it with aplomb. She praised me for my ability to over praise others; an absolute delight.

Get this quickly. Not only is it a kick ass story but now your bookshelf will match better with your copies of The Devil Takes You Home and House of Bone and Rain.

BOP CITY SWING hints at the time period you’re stepping into but not at the fast paced hard boiled story wrapped around it. It hits the ground running with shadowy bars, flowing booze and a bloody death within the first few pages. Such a great read. I cannot recommend it enough. a.co/d/4T5tj6L

Congratulations to @thelincoln.bsky.social whose novel METALLIC REALMS is out today! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Just finished a read of George Orwell’s Animal Farm. You might remember that it’s ostensibly a fable about the dangers of Stalinist communism, but was really a treatise and satirical warning about totalitarianism as a whole. It reads like a sad blueprint of what’s happening now.

This is a fantastic conversation that covers so much ground—including, perhaps most importantly of all, why SGJ is always winding up in the emergency room, dripping blood.

kind Buffalo Hunter Hunter words from Grady:

Every time I see one is special, but I’m almost done with @sgj.bsky.social’s The Buffalo Hunter Hunter and that made this time even better. Anyway, Stephen’s latest is a masterpiece. His best yet, and I’ve been reading him since The Fast Red Road. This one is for you, man. #photography

Picked up the latest @rhppress.bsky.social issue at my local bookstore @bookshopsantacruz.bsky.social! I’ve been ordering all my books here instead of A’zon and I’m not going back.
