Three things that make the U.S. the envy of the world: 1) Professionalized military with strong norm of civilian control 2) Higher education and cutting-edge scientific research 3) Ability to welcome immigrants and attract the “best and the brightest” All three are under threat.

Climate change is the biggest crisis humanity faces in the 21st century and just because they are trying to eliminate all mentions of the word “climate“ doesn’t actually solve anything.

The senior military officer purges will put our troops in danger. Trump put a part-time airmen incharge of the military, jumping a slew of 3 and 4-stars with 30-40 years of military experience. Our enemy couldn’t be happier.

This is so grotesque. Using Musk’s DOD fueled private company to pressure an ally to capitulate to our blackmail to benefit Putin.

Men didn’t sacrifice their lives so that we could witness radical sociopaths perform Nazi salutes in 2025.

Keep in mind that the probationary federal employees who are now being fired are NOT just newly hired ones. If a long-term employee is promoted to a higher-level position, such as a supervisory or managerial role, then the employee may be subject to a probationary period for that new position.

Seems like Republicans might want to consider the fact that these huge Trump-Musk cuts to scientific research could close off a career path for many promising young science majors in red states. We get into that in this piece as well

Every Democrat should be telling this story.

It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank. I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history. Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

Trump's "plan" is both depraved and unworkable paulkrugman.substack.com/p/a-belgian-...

DOGE Nazis have illegally fired 600 workers from Bonneville Power Authority, a hugely important federal utility in the Northwest www.oregonlive.com/environment/...

Here's me debunking Trump's claim of "anti-Christian bias"—which relied on a brazen lie that an elderly woman was "put in jail because she was praying." She ACTUALLY broke into an abortion clinic, barricaded the entrance, body slammed a manager, & resisted arrest. www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-3D...

Imagine being rich enough to do anything you want and choosing to take food and medicine from starving children to give yourself even more money.

If you’re not confirmed by the Senate then you have no business meddling in the lives of MILLIONS of Americans We are suing DOGE for violating the constitution & illegally seizing power I’ll discuss tonight @ 8PM ET on @insidewithpsaki.msnbc.com 👇 statedemocracydefenders.org/fund/new-law...

This is insane and a total attack on the middle/working class.
