The way yall are already willing to let shit slide Well. I'll just say it now. Someone must show that they are repentant before they can be forgiven. They have to be willing to try and reverse the harm they have caused. Apologizing is a process, and "that's not what I voted for" don't cut it

Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options. Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.

Well that would certainly make things interesting. www.cbc.ca/news/world/c...

I think a big issue moving forward is going to be that there are a lot of fucking morons in this country

Do Not Comply In Advance: bossy, already a cliche, implies permission to comply later Fuck You, Make Me: leads by example, directs yelling at opposition instead of allies, easy to chant at a protest or put on a banner

all I am saying is that if Biden was responsible for the price of fucking eggs Donald Trump killed those people on that plane. I didn't make the fucking rules, they did.

HAHAHA I feel safe. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/medic...

For anyone unfamiliar with "Calvinball", it was a game Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes™ created that was based 100% on randomness, unfixed rules, pointless goals, pure illogic, emotional blackmail, & trying to outwit the opponent using the same witless logic of a selfish introvert kid. It all tracks.

I voted for Trump. But when he said he was going to destroy the NIH, I didn’t know that he would end research into curing the cancer that will kill me within a few years.

I'm not sure if people realize how quickly the Trumpzis can do enormous damage to US science, from basic research to translation. Really fast. REALLY fast. Labs with decades of irreplaceable domain and technique knowledge can break apart with a surprisingly short funding gap. When they're gone...1/

Some ideas about how to resist creeping authoritarianism: - find joy in your community - engage in mutual aid - be sure to get enough sleep, water, and calories - move your body in ways that please you - support independent media and artists (and make your own!) - use cynicism sparingly - pets

Wow, the ADL really fucked the goat today.

I don't know if Steve Jobs would have attended the inauguration or not. But I know Tim Cook did.

Moving away from Amazon and wondering if anyone has (more) ethical retailers they can recommend.

“i voted to hurt other communities, not my community” is going to be a sentiment we hear a lot in the next few years

It's amazing how many people in minority communities have been able to convince themselves that they're white Republicans now, but they'll never really be in the club. They're only tolerated until they're no longer useful.

So I guess what I'm seeing is that the health care insurance problem in the United States actually does have a Second Amendment solution?
