I quite like the #Helix editor, but it would be so much better if it had action-object grammar like #vi. Its weird mix doesn’t quite work for me. I reckon a single plugin for #vim 8+ would do all the fancy popup pickers and be just right. #AtLeastItsNotEmacs #controversial #tech

share, for fellow folks with autism / pixel artists: this is about four days' worth of hyperfixation: a 512x512 document almost completely full of 16x16 pixel art.

Progress on #SoapyBASIC #compiler. To compile for a specific Instruction Set Architecture, you need to invent it first, and then build a synthetic CPU to run it. I've done 80% of this and pleased with performance (> 10x interpreted). More at www.soapyfrog.com/index.php/20... #RetroComputing

Today I tried a bit of #retrocomputing repair/refurb. A nearly 24 year old Microsoft mouse that was very dirty and the wheel was stuck. It’s now very clean but doesn’t work. Lights up when plugged in but computers(various) don’t recognise it as a device. I’ll go back to software :-)
