I struggle a bit with the holiday blues, so my solution was an island getaway. Instead of political arguments, family dysfunction and consumerism (the American tradition), I spent my Thanksgiving morning with an open water swim off Waikoloa Beach on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Visited Pu’uhonoua o Hōnaunau on the Big Island of Hawaii, the ancient place of refuge where tribal outcasts could find sanctuary. A fitting metaphor for the refuge found here at Bluesky? We all need our place of sanctuary.
