Spent reactor fuel is highly radioactive usually stored in special pools of water that cools it and acts as a radiation shield. This water NEVER leaks polluting groundwater for 24,000 years. Well thats the idea. And if it leaks how the hell do you fix it ?

Nuclear reactors in the United States may have large concrete domes covering the reactor called a containment structure to contain accidental releases of radiation. So its a miracle that this dome will never leak. Brilliant. Design by Homer S. ?

Forget the cost. Worry about the radioactive waste created in the reactor that includes plutonium isotopes that stay deadly to humans for over 24,000 years.

Do the public realise: They put almost harmless uranium into the nuclear reactor and you get highly radioactive isotope waste created including plutonium that is deadly to humans for over 24,000 years. This is insane.
