PhD Student at Imperial College with Dan Goodman. Pretending to be a neuro guy. Modularity, structure-function, resource-constrained ANNs/SNNs, neuromorphic + fun stuff like Neural Cellular Automatas 😎 Also working w/ SpiNNCloud on SpiNNaker2.

Let me know if you're interested in applying to one of these in any of my topics!

Really cool work by Dan and Yang !! Thinking of algorithms is as important as new architectures 🔊👂

Very timely post by Dan! Decentralisation is key

I've been arguing with a friend that says that capitalism is by def decentralised and communism/socialism centralised. But it looks like capitalism leads to imperialism / fascism, wether communism eventually aspires to abolish the state? Thus which should be called more decentralised seems unclear?

I'm giving an online talk tomorrow as part of UCL's NeuroAI series on neural architectures and our current line of research trying to figure out what they might be good for (including some philosophy: what might an answer to this question even look like?). www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ucl-neuroa...

We're excited to announce the first Evolving Self-organisation workshop at GECCO 2025! Submission deadline: March 26, 2025 More information: evolving-self-organisation-workshop.github.io

One of the most important websites in America right now.

Any countries whose scientific research funding bodies are NOT currently under siege by their own national leadership would do very well announcing investments in bringing in foreign research talent right now

A good time to repost this banger from 'The Responsibility of Intellectuals' by Noam Chomsky in '67 Vance is absolutely correct: universities are - and must be - the enemy. This is why the Right is attacking scholarship globally. They want to end the privilege Chomsky's talking about in 67

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a declassified World War II-era CIA guide to sabotaging fascism in the workplace has become one of the most popular free ebooks on the internet: www.404media.co/declassified...

Post the amazing science things you have done with federal funding.

🤖 🧠 🧪 New #Preprint Alert! Imagine AI systems that can learn and adapt on-chip while displaying minimal energy usage. We've just made a step towards unlocking the final piece of the puzzle needed to deploy neuromorphic at scale using SpiNNaker2! (1/8) arxiv.org/abs/2412.15021

Ressource constraints is key 🗝️

"This was a long and difficult road. Thank God we've made it". I love this paper, which is full of insights and ways I think about these topics now, please check it out :)

New preprint 🤖🧠🧪! With @swathianil.bsky.social and @marcusghosh.bsky.social. If you want to get the most out of a multisensory signal, you should take it's temporal structure into account. But which neural architectures do this best? 🧵👇 www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
