Trump's anus-face. One of many things that make him utterly repugnant.

At what point will the sheer weight of people suffering under the status quo collapse the ridiculous red/blue edifice of US politics, which serves only the imperatives of the ruling class, billionaires & conmen?

There's the state media (Fox News, etc); there's the "neutral" media (NYT, WaPo, etc); & there's the pro-democracy media. But this segmentation is not sustainable. Three spheres will soon collapse into just two: Media orgs that oppose authoritarianism and media orgs that accept it. (Jonathan V Last)

I never appreciated before the extent to which absurdity is a salient feature of authoritarianism. Your first impulse is to laugh at it, then as the reality sinks in, you want to cry, before you get scared & angry. It's the E. European sense of (dark) humor in a nutshell.

Chilling is an understatement. www.lawdork.com/p/trump-test...

Primary every single one of these Dems. These are the ten that voted to censure Al Green.

Good idea!

On the winds of war, a new moment of self reflection, our first distant view of ourselves. OTD in 1947 American scientists launched a V-2 rocket which captured these first pictures of Earth taken from greater than 100 miles altitude. 🧪

It's mind-boggling that we can safely assume this common-sense accountability & oversight measure won't get a single Republican vote. subramanyam.house.gov/media/press-...

Since writing this article, I have received messages from federal civil servants who tell me it is accurate, and that they are frightened. Please share this with anyone who doesn't understand the scale of the transformation. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Trump one was surrounded by buffers, responsible intelligent adults, so when he came back from Mar-a-Lago with some crazy idea, those buffers would contain it. Trump two is built around amplifiers. He latches onto some nonsense from the last person he talked to & these guys amplify it (Tom Friedman)

Get your priorities straight... Democrats who trade stocks off the info they get while serving in Congress have legalized insider trading. This greed is part of what led the path to Trump being in office and corporations being given a louder voice than the people who work for them... We the People

This is the first time Trump has been on the dais since this guy.

Let this sink in.

Why didn't Democrats boycott Trump's speech? If you're there, then disrupt & proudly walk out. Will they ever learn?

A great power needs a great bureaucracy. (Robert D Kaplan)

I'm not a big fan of AEI, but this analysis makes sense. Unfortunately, destroying the workforce, disregarding the law, & closing offices without any plan or accountability won't accomplish any of AEI's recommendations www.aei.org/op-eds/how-t...

Can't stop quoting Shakespeare. THE FIRST MOTION. Between the acting of a dreadful thing And the first motion, all the interim is Like a phantasma, or a hideous dream.

A nation cannot effectively serve its people if it is gutting and rebuilding the civil service every four years. It cannot close and reopen agencies with every election cycle. (David French)

“The overuse of touchscreens is an industry-wide problem, with almost every vehicle-maker moving key controls onto central touchscreens, obliging drivers to take their eyes off the road and raising the risk of distraction crashes."

Reengineering an organization calls for process maps. What is DOGE's process vision? Show us the maps. Musk is just throwing bombs & bullshitting. He already failed as a turnaround manager w Twitter where he's responsible for staggering 75% decline in company value www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-ki...

Every time DOGE fires many hundreds of federal employees, in any agency, we're told the employees are "non-mission critical including DEI-related positions, among other roles." I don't believe there are that many DEI-related positions in the federal workforce.

Interesting to review Musk's hostile takeover/gutting of Twitter as a preview of his takeover/gutting of the US of Trump www.nbcnews.com/business/bus...

The divide in politics today is between unreality and reality. (Timothy Snyder)
