Emergency video: The Ukraine travesty t.co/GUplJZpdRs

Today, Donald Trump and JD Vance disgraced the United States of America. My full statement on the disastrous Oval Office meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy:

So likely the world’s first Trillionaire Elon, who received $36 Billion in govt subsidies and contracts to generate his wealth, is telling the people who built this country what they can live without, as he giggles with his chain saw. Something ain’t right

If the market continues to trend down, and the Atlanta Fed turns out to be right, the midterms will be very interesting. The battle between republican self preservation and MAGA will be intense

Zelensky, the ELECTED leader of a free country, should not be expected to kiss the ass of the toddler. His people expect Him to be strong. Trump would have fled where Zelensky stayed and fought. Trump is the worst negotiator

Since I offered you 10 reasons for modest optimism last week, discontent with the Trump-Musk regime has surged even further. America appears to be waking up. Here’s the latest evidence — 10 more reasons for modest optimism. https://robertreich.substack.com/p/more-reasons-for-moderate-optimism

Trump is too much of a coward to say a bad thing to Putin, yet he dares lecture Zelensky? Russia is on the verge of collapse and Trump/Vance are desperate to save them

A defining policy battle is about to come to a head in this country. The Republican budget will force everyone - especially Congress and the White House - to make plain whether they are prepared to harm the rest of us in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.

If Democrats want to regain working people, they must disavow Big Money. That starts with banning super PAC donations in Dem primaries. There’s no way the party can speak for the majority of working people in America if it's beholden to corporate interests.

We refuse to let the oligarchs win and control us, and I feel a sea change (link to full video in reply)

Emergency Video: will Congress do to itself what they are demanding of other departments? Cut congress’ budget and shrink THEIR staff now!

I talked to Robert, a farmer and rancher from Tucumcari, who is out $100,000 thanks to Trump's freeze of farmers' federal funds. Here's what he told me: youtube.com/shorts/lzDBi...

"There is overwhelming consensus on Capitol Hill that Russian President Vladimir Putin is a war criminal, NATO is critical to European and global security, and the United States has led the common defense." They all knew Trump was running against that.

MAGA defined:

Another dedicated public servant with DECADES of service to our nation has been pushed out by Elon Musk and his unlawful crusade for your data. House Republicans are still silent. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Trump keeps his tax returns secret but wants to give your IRS info to Elon Musk. What could go wrong with that?

It’s sad on the eve of Presidents Day it’s appropriate to have to post this.

OOPS: House Republicans just admitted that Social Security is next on the chopping block. They want to give the ultra-rich a $4.5 trillion tax cut — and make middle-class families foot the bill.

Some House Republicans seem to be confused, so let's get one thing straight: Nobody voted for Elon Musk. And they definitely didn't vote for Republicans to give Elon and other Republican donors a $4.5 trillion dollar tax giveaway.

After a 12-hour markup where Democrats fought to stop them, Republicans passed a budget that betrays the middle class. Their plan steals from working families while delivering a $4.5 TRILLION giveaway to their billionaire donors. Democrats will fight this Republican Rip Off.

House Republicans will surely prioritize what's best for their constituents...right?! 🤨🫠

Welcome to 2025, where a teen tech bro who calls himself “Big Balls” has been sent to “fix” the U.S. government, and “DOGEing” has become a verb. Subscribe to #WhatADay to find out WTF that sentence even means. (We promise it’s not just nonsense) crooked.com/daily

House Republicans are in a fantasy land with made up agencies and unelected billionaires calling the shots.   American families live in reality and don't have those privileges. They want lower costs & common sense solutions - not to be pawns in Republicans' games. youtube.com/shorts/Ltih3...

Liberals believe in the rule of law. They also believe in the value of biomedical research. They believe there are important and worthwhile things that the government does. They might as well fight for their beliefs. They might even win.

The belief that the law no longer matters is deeply damaging, if for no other reason than that it is strategically foolish to concede that the rule of law is a fiction. This is a pretty basic first principle of a republic.

"The constitutional question of whether the president can delegate authority to a billionaire campaign donor to shut down federal agencies is not one Republicans are very interested in answering."

"Vought isn’t just another extremist voice. He helped write Project 2025, a far-right plan to tear down independent agencies, weaken democracy, and hand more power to the executive branch." Ranking Member @congressmanboyle.bsky.social calls on the Senate to reject Russell Vought's nomination:

For the second time in a week, Trump tried to rip off hardworking American taxpayers. And for the second time in a week, Democrats stood united, the American people said no to his expensive tariffs, and he backed down. This time, he even got played by Canada and Mexico.

"As it was fifty years ago, so it is today: The fact that the Constitution’s enemies now include the president of the United States does not relieve members of Congress of their responsibility to that oath."

I could take this drug for good reasons, I know ppl taking it, mostly b/c of diabetes. However, I think this is a well played move. euroweeklynews.com/2025/02/02/d...

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) has said it is “prepared to confront” challenges presented by Donald Trump’s second administration, after the US president signed an executive order attacking accessibility provisions.

Happy Black History Month! America may be facing a SUPER villain, but we are the heroes of our own story.   With resilience, grace, and unapologetic power, we rise. No villain can dim our light—our magic is unstoppable. My story is called Unleashing Black Girl Magic: The Superpower Within!

The assault on birthright citizenship is more than an overzealous assault on immigration. It is part of Trump’s ongoing attempt to limit membership in the American family. ICYMI @monacharen.bsky.social in defense of birthright citizenship: www.thebulwark.com/p/why-americ...

"This is what the Republican party has become: soft on crime and contemptuous of law enforcement when the criminals in question support Trump. To smear prosecutors or excuse Trump’s goons, there’s no lie Vance won’t tell. That’s why he’s in the job."

As Trump attempts to purge much of the federal government, much of the bureaucratic leadership is submitting. It’s the rank-and-file workers who are refusing to back down. They should keep it up, and the leaders should join them. Today's Triad from @jvl.bsky.social:

Purges are highly unusual. The attempt to obstruct the peaceful transfer of power was highly unusual. The mass pardons of hundreds of violent supporters of the president? Highly unusual. But not for an authoritarian. @billkristolbulwark.bsky.social and Ben Parker:

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉
