Dear President Bukele, “I’ve done a great job with our country because now you are afraid of the government more than the gangs” is not the flex you think it is.

“So long as America is a land of freedom and opportunity, we will be a destination for migrants looking for a better life.” Trump-“so you’re saying I need to eliminate freedom and opportunity…” #Trump

Even if you were concerned with government spending, DOGE eliminating just under $2 billion from that small slice (~$980 billion) isn’t going to do crap for reducing the deficit. Throw in the knock on effects of all the firings, and you’ve got all broken eggs and no omelet. #DOGE #musk

So, has the president’s protection detail seen the same senseless cuts as the rest of the federal workforce? Asking for a friend.

“Ukraine should have never started it” has serious “baby, why do you make me hit you?” vibes.

My MIL has a shirt that says, “I won’t be remembered as a woman who kept her mouth shut.” No, hun, you’ll be remembered as someone gladly lived off the inheritance left you by your racist, sexist relatives all the while looking down on people who had to work for a living. You’ll be remembered by1/

“On Thursday, Danielle Sassoon, the acting U.S. attorney in Manhattan, resigned. Her resignation letter is a master class in how to call your boss, in this case the No. 2 lawyer in the Justice Department, a corrupt scumbag … without using the term ‘corrupt scumbag.’” thedispatch.com/newsletter/b...

It is in the United States’ best interest for Russia to bankrupt itself trying to take over Ukraine while we support Ukraine’s right to defend itself, IF we allow that Russia is an enemy. Trump is either a complete idiot (very possible) or he looks at this situation and says, “Russia’s not MY enemy”

Republicans in the Senate piss me off so much. It is entirely possible to force Trump to nominate qualified candidates that are conservatives. You don’t have to get on your knees and approve every crackpot he throws at you. Ffs, people.

Pete Hegseth reminds me of the old adage with respect to war: “amateurs talk strategy, professionals talk logistics.” Only now you need a third category: “testicle tanning Fox News idiots talk about how the mostly manly man wins”. God help us if we get into a war with this jackass at the helm.

I’m not artistic, but I feel like we need a political cartoon showing Xi and Putin as puppet masters controlling Musk and Trump, respectively, as they blindly slash the us government. Then have Xi lean over and say “let’s have them do the CIA next!!”

Whoever wins the presidency gets to run the government how he sees fit. This isn’t running the government. This is dismantling it. Even if you want smaller government, you have to see the idiocy of slashing thousands of jobs immediately.

It will take a thorough investigation to determine how that helicopter crashed into the passenger jet. That said, I won’t be surprised if we find out some federal employee was busy updating his résumé due to threats to his job security and, thus, was not adequately focused on his job.

“One of the problems with Donald Trump is that he doesn’t … know stuff.” “…threatening to take away Putin’s access to U.S. markets is like threatening to take away Donald Trump’s library card—it’s not like he’s using it a whole heck of a lot.” thedispatch.com/article/puti...

It used to be that conservative subculture existed to tell you it was ok to believe in small government and traditional values. Now it exists to tell you it’s ok to be an asshole.

There are people in this world who think that 2+2=3. You explain that it’s 4 and they go off and do some soul searching. They come back saying 2+2=5 and this has to be true because they arrived at this answer through meditation and therapy.

Just learned some fun history: Roman Emperor Valentinian threw such a violent tantrum when negotiating withy German warlords that he induced a stroke and died on the spot. Sometimes history repeats itself, right? Or maybe I can just hope it will.

I think Trump’s pardoning of the J6 criminals highlights something more people need to remember: powers invested in the office of the president can be wielded by people you agree with or disagree with. If you aren’t OK with Trump pardoning his thugs, the answer isn’t to make sure your guy wins. 1/2

“For I was envious of the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For they have no pangs until death; their bodies are fat and sleek. They are not in trouble as others are; they are not stricken like the rest of mankind. 1/
