Stand up for #trans folks. As an HIV+ gay man, it’s not lost on me how often trans people have fought for and protected my rights. From Stonewall to the AIDS crisis, trans folks have been by our side. The “T” in #LGBTQ isn’t silent and doesn’t only exist when you’re comfortable either.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, it makes perfect sense. I want to once again offer that it's so much better to immerse yourself in only one or two things. Follow the news about just those focus areas. Importantly find concrete small actions to take in those specific areas. Key is consistency.

I see a lot of doom and gloom and I get it. I do. But we are in for a long long ride. So make sure you’re centering joy and love in there too. There are a lot of folks taking action. We can partner with them and make change. We don’t need to sit by and watch it all unfold.

I can tell you that in Florida they passed something similar. The parent rights in education act. I’ve been talking about this issue for a few years now imploring social work governing bodies to stop it from happening. We cannot ethically comply with these orders. It is not ok.
