Many cyan and magenta paints don’t mix a good ultramarine because pigments aren’t geometrically consistent. Even though a limited palette of CMY makes it difficult to create a vivid ultramarine, we should still conceptually use a CMY spectrum for reference and theory. #paintings #colourmixing

It is interesting how often yellow is used to represent the colour of the sun but at 10,000K the sun is actually a combination of all visible light wavelengths, so it is white. Many people also identify yellow as a warm colour but in nature it appears at cooler temperatures than blue. #color

Vision is so fascinating. Sometimes when I am sitting at the dining table trying to think something through, I look over at the window and stare at the viridian glass. After gazing at it for a little while, a lovely pink circle appears as I shift my gaze to the right.
