Save Our Suffolk Swifts provide free surveys and advice. Great trip to Wenhaston with 4 Swift nest boxes going to a location where Swifts breed with another 2 boxes going to a location adjacent to a different Swift colony there. Adding nesting space to existing colonies helps boost Swifts’ numbers.

Slightly off topic, please excuse. We don’t just provide survey and advice for #Suffolk Swifts, @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social also provide assistance to help other rarer breeding species needing nesting space. Just delivered both Little & Tawny Owl, Spotted Flycatcher & Grey Wagtail nest boxes

No sign of Swifts using the nest cabinets behind the louvres of the belfry of Laxfield Church, installed late in 2023. Swifts were seen circling during the summer when calls were being played so the speaker has been moved to be closer to a nest entrance. #Conservation @suffolkbirdgroup.bsky.social
