We now have >250 wards/divisions reported and an increasingly clear picture of the Reform vote. It is higher in areas with fewer graduates, more people with no qualifications, areas where more people are employed in primary industries (e.g. manufacturing) and areas with more older people.

Professor Rob Johns says Reform UK's success in the local elections might bode well for Labour in 2029 if the right wing vote is split. @sotonpolitics.bsky.social @robjohns75.bsky.social

Dr Daniel Devine says it would be a mistake for Labour to 'swing right' after Reform UK made gains in the local elections. He also says the First-past-the-post voting system is not sustainable. @danjdevine.bsky.social @sotonpolitics.bsky.social

Glad this is out (and kudos to Afifah)! Very timely: it is argued that regional organisations can offer context-specific, equitable responses to global health emergencies ...but they must be better integrated into global governance to overcome multilateral limits. www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...
