"The Old Shop", it says on this 1904 rural Ontario flashback gem. With a frisson of poignancy, we see not only Canada's flag but a Statue of Liberty here. I will spare you my anger, frustration, and resolve. Just know that my country is its own special place, not for the taking. #photography #canada

If sky porn is a hashtag, this is the money shot. (Orchestra crescendo, head thrown back, hands to the sky, etcetera) #photography #skyporn #sunrays #skyphotos #sunshine

Certain parts of rural Ontario are experimenting with giant marshmallow crops. The flavor is rumored to be out of this world, and just one can --- okay, I'm full of shit here. These are not marshmallows. Let me tell you about giant earplugs. #photography #farmland #rural #ontario #canada #harvest

Hey hey, good morning to the Bluesky nation(s)... we are currently flying, safely because we are birds, in the direction of an upcoming weekend. This Friday is your Friday to make the best of. #photography #birds #birdsinflight #canadageese #birdflocks #flight #flying #birdphotos #blueskyphotography

Dog days of summer, near Lake Huron between Goderich and Kincardine. Hot enough to overcook eggs you can't afford anyway. Humid? Louisiana, baby. Three young Amish amigos in full attire, a woman back there too, all strolling the roadside oven. Tariffs won't touch salt of earth folks. #photography

Chapters of a book. Chapters of a life. Our self-expression through language and The Arts will reveal that despite our cultural, political, religious differences, we have far more in common than negative energies would have us think. Thus, I believe that most of us want a happy ending. #photography

Although Toronto has an enviable urban forest compared to many cities, there are also vast expanses of pavement and less than pleasing visuals. There are works of art around the city that break up the monotony and delight mine eyes! #photography #urbanartists #streetart #publicart #toronto #artists

Ladysmith is a Vancouver Island (British Columbia) town of under 10,000 people. It dates from 1898, and I would surmise that many of the locals are in great shape. Most of the streets are steeply angled, as you see here with my wife to the right for scale. Nice town! #photography #canada #westcoast

In Toronto, head east on Queen St. East (duh), turn right (South to lake) at Leslie St., until you reach parking at tommythompsonpark.ca ... then enjoy the landfill peninsula reclaimed by Nature, and artists! 1) Driftwood dance couple. 2) Old and bleached but still dancing. #photography #driftwood

For the warm weather months (May–September), island life looks pretty sweet to me. 1) Houseboat and BBQ hang. 2) South side of the island is open lake views with sections of beach. My friend, Peter, has lived on Ward's island (east portion) since the 1960s. Loves it! #photography #torontoisland

Toronto has been in a non-stop construction orgy for quite a few years. This skyline portion, taken from the island perhaps 5 years ago, by now looks very different. Who needs sunshine downtown anyway, right? #photography #toronto #skylines #cities #canada #torontoisland #blueskyphotography #lakes

Toronto Island has several sections, one of which is a marina and a small houseboat community. The big city is only a short ferry trip away, but the feeling is one of idyllic contrast. #photography #torontoisland #toronto #houseboats #houseboatlife #lakeontario #canada #onthewater #peaceful #calm

Some days are stranger than others. Quite a few years ago, I was walking the east Toronto shoreline of Lake Ontario. It was both mild and humid, with alternating periods of hot winds. Birds were active and then gone. A little Twilight Zone storm grew from nothing out there. #photography #lakeontario
